Kym Marsh is the the next guest in Piers Morgan's Life Stories for ITV1.
During the interview, Kym reveals all about herself, including details about her family life, her marriage to Jack Ryder and her engagement to Jamie Lomas. She talks about the baby son the couple lost last year and her plans for the future.
Kym talks about her role in hit soap, Coronation Street, she says: “In the first year I‘d turned a straight man gay, found out that my brother’s killed my husband, then one of my brother dies, then one of my other brothers dies, there have been times, certainly with the baby swap story line when I found out that Ryan wasn’t my son, I sat in the Rovers living room wearing a polo neck for about three months crying into a tissue and it drains you.”
Piers asks: “You life’s not been a bed of roses either, it’s been a bit of a soap opera too, do you think, on balance, have you had a wilder crazier life than Michelle or is it level pegging?”
Kym replies: “In some aspects I’d say wilder and maybe a little bit more turbulent but maybe mine’s not quite so tragic.”
She also talks about her children, saying: “I will fight tooth and nail to give my children a better life, I wanted to get out of the situation I was in and I would have done pretty much anything to do that. Their lives now are so much different, there have been times when me and my sister have gone halves on a bag of nappies because we couldn’t afford one on our own and in doing what I do and going the route I’ve gone I am able to give them the life that I wanted to give them.”
The third series of Life Stories will see Piers grilling six celebrities including Kym Marsh, Simon Cowell, Geri Halliwell and Joan Collins about their lives, loves, highs and lows.
Filmed in front of a studio audience, each show is devoted to one guest, looking back over their personal lives and their careers and will include interviews with their friends, families and colleagues.
Piers said: 'I think this is the best line-up I've had so far. It's hard to think of a stronger possible start than Gordon Brown and Simon Cowell, obviously. One is the country's most powerful man, and the other's the Prime Minister. But the rest of the names are all compelling stars too, who have led varied, successful, and occasionally very traumatic lives. This series has more laughs, tears, and genuinely moving moments than even the previous two series. I think this show has now become what I always hoped it would be - the place for the biggest celebrities to come and give the best interview of their lives.'
Previously Piers has secured interviews many household names including prime minister Gordon Brown, Katie Price, Dannii Minogue, Cilla Black, Ulrika Jonsson, Sheila Hancock and Sir Richard Branson.
Piers Morgan’s Life Stories is an ITV Studios production for ITV1. The series producer is Andrew Burgess and the executive producer is Jeremy Phillips.
