Martina Navratilova will join ITV’s pundit team for its exclusive free to air live coverage of the French Open: Roland-Garros 2016 tournament.

The 18-time Grand Slam winner will lend her expertise and insight to ITV’s team for the women’s final at Roland-Garros.

Led by presenter John Inverdale, Martina joins a team which also includes 2013 Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli, four-time Grand Slam winner Jim Courier, Andy Murray's former coach Mark Petchey, Fabrice Santoro, who played in a record 70 Grand Slams, and former British ladies number one Samantha Smith. Nick Mullins is commentator with Celina Hinchcliffe the court-side reporter.

ITV’s coverage begins on Sunday May 22 with live broadcasts of each day’s play throughout the tournament. The vast majority of the tournament will be broadcast on ITV4, with the men’s and women’s singles finals on ITV.

Novak Djokovic will head into the tournament with high hopes of his first victory on the clay in Paris after defeating Andy Murray in the Madrid Open, following a dominant 2015.

Meanwhile, women’s number one Serena Williams will be aiming for her seventh title at Roland-Garros, facing potential competition for the title from Madrid victor Simona Halep, Australian Open champ Angelique Kerber and in-form Victoria Azarenka. Should she win, Serena will equal Steffi Graf's record 22 Grand Slam singles wins in the Open era.
