Britain’s Best Bakery returns to ITV Daytime
Following a successful first series, ITV Daytime has commissioned a second run of Britain’s Best Bakery from Shine TV.
Expert Judges Mich Turner MBE (TV chef, author and owner of Little Venice Cake Company) and Peter Sidwell (TV chef, cookery writer and restaurateur) will return to sample the delicacies of the nation’s favourite independent, family run and community bakeries, tasting and critiquing their way through breads, cakes, pastries and pies.
The shortlisted bakeries compete in a series of baking challenges that put their skills to the test, from Chelsea buns to Welsh cinnamon cakes; sage and apple pork pies to creme brûlée cupcakes.
Across six weeks, the daily episodes of Britain’s Best Bakery will also reveal the heart-warming stories of the bakeries and the people who lovingly create and bake there.
Kelly Webb-Lamb, Creative Director, Shine TV says:
"We are really pleased to be working with ITV to bring viewers another series of Britain's Best Bakery. We look forward to producing another fantastic competition which celebrates the nation's bakeries and their bakers."
Commissioner for ITV Factual and Dayime, Priya Singh said:
"Britain's Best Bakery is a celebration of the UK's wonderful array of bakeries, and a rich blend of traditions, cultures and mouth watering recipes. Add to this memorable characters and their stories and you have a truly entertaining series which we are thrilled is returning to the ITV Daytime schedule."
Britain’s Best Bakery is a Shine Production for ITV. It was commissioned by ITV Controller of Popular Factual Jo Clinton Davies and ITV Commissioner for Factual and Daytime Priya Singh. Sacha Baveystock is the Executive Producer for Shine TV.
