There’s still time to audition for the biggest entertainment series on British TV

The country’s biggest entertainment series, Britain’s Got Talent, is giving people another opportunity to try out for the show by holding an Open Auditions Day at The Oval* in London.

The Judges Auditions Tour starts in the New Year visiting five cities, and for the first time auditions will be held at the famous home of variety entertainment – The London Palladium.

Judges Auditions Tour Dates:
16 & 17 January 2013 – Millennium Centre, Cardiff
19 January - The Oval, London
20-23 January – The London Palladium, London
28 January – Clyde Theatre, Glasgow
2-3 February – Lowry Theatre, Manchester
8-10 February – The ICC, Birmingham

After a successful Open Auditions tour of cities around Great Britain, the demand from the public to audition remains incredibly high so on Saturday 19 January, The Oval will be throwing its doors open to welcome performers of any age, background and talent.

Last year over 6,000 people turned up to audition at The Oval’s Open Day so the doors open at 9.00am and will not close until the last act is seen.  Two of 2012’s amazing live semi-finalists auditioned at The Oval last year – singer Hope Murphy and circus performer, Billy George.

Matt Banks, Series Producer, Britain’s Got Talent, says:  “We’ve already seen thousands of acts but we want to make sure we find the best talent around and this Open Day allows even more people to audition.

“After such a huge year for Great Britain in 2012 we want to keep Britain proud for 2013 by bringing a series packed with talent to ITV1.”

People who wish to enter can register to audition at www.itv.com/talent or just turn up on the day.

After a hugely successful series in 2012, the same team reunite for Britain’s Got Talent in 2013 with multi-award winning Ant & Dec as hosts and Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams returning as Judges.

In a thrilling finale to the 2012 series, Simon’s dream of a dancing dog emerging victorious came true when Ashleigh & Pudsey were crowned the winners.

Since their win in May which was watched by a peak of 14.5 million viewers, the talented duo have performed in front of Her Majesty The Queen at the Royal Variety Performance, appeared on America’s Got Talent, been guests on The Jay Leno Show and Pudsey has even penned (or pawed) his autobioDOGraphy.  The duo will also appear in a Christmas Pantomime.
Britain’s Got Talent is the highest rating entertainment series on British television this year and recently the show’s YouTube channel smashed the billion views barrier.

Britain’s Got Talent was named Best Talent Show at the TV Choice Awards in September.
