Trouble is ahead for everyone’s favourite pub chef Marlon Dingle when ex wife Donna, played by Verity Rushworth, arrives back in Emmerdale this March.
Donna’s return not only threatens the happiness between ex husband Marlon (Mark Charnock) and his new fiancée Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy), but there will soon be more to her return than first meets the eye.
Verity will reprise her role of the much-loved character Donna in February and will be on screen from March. Verity says: “I'm thrilled to be re-joining the wonderful Emmerdale team. The emotional journey my character is set to experience will be wonderfully challenging to play, and of course working with some of my oldest friends is going to be a real treat!''
Kate Oates, Emmerdale Series Producer says: “I'm delighted to welcome Verity back to the show. Donna left under a real cloud with Marlon - so her return should ruffle some serious feathers in the village. I'm really excited to see the impact she has on the friends and family she left behind!’’
Since leaving Emmerdale at the beginning of 2009, Verity made her West End debut as Penny Pingleton in ‘Hairspray’ and has added a wealth of stage credits to her name.
