This hard-hitting two-part series aired in January 2013 on ITV.  Veteran presenter Sir Trevor McDonald was granted exclusive access to one of America’s oldest and most notorious prisons and came face-to-face with some of the world’s most dangerous criminals.

Housing 1900 inmates, 12 of whom were on Death Row, Trevor spent two weeks in the dark and forbidding world of Indiana State Maximum Security Prison.

Sir Trevor comments: “I'm delighted that Inside Death Row has been nominated in the Best Documentary category at this year's National Television Awards.  Making the programme was one of the most fascinating and chilling experiences of my life and one that I will never forget. The Death Row offenders have been convicted of the most horrendous crimes and to be granted access and an insight into this dark world was an extraordinary if sobering privilege, unlike anything I have ever come across in all my years as a journalist.”
