ITV Daytime has commissioned a new quiz format, 1000 Heartbeats, a production by Hungry Bear Media.
Presented by Vernon Kay, the 30 x 60 mins series will see each contestant compete against a clock, which is 1000 of their own heart beats, to win a cash prize.
Players will each start the game with 1000 heartbeats and as they play each round their heart rate is measured in real time: every single beat of their heart makes one of their 1000 heartbeats disappear.
The aim of the game is to answer questions and accumulate as much cash as their 1000 heartbeats will allow, whilst always remembering that if a player runs out of heartbeats, their game is over.
Vernon Kay said: “1000 Heartbeats is a brilliant concept. The contestants are going to have to stay calm under real pressure to win big. I can’t wait to start recording the shows.”
Director of ITV Daytime, Helen Warner said: “This is a really exciting format and will be a brilliant addition to our Daytime portfolio.”
Executive Producer for Hungry Bear Media, Dan Baldwin said: “Hungry Bear are delighted to be working with ITV on this project and I’m thrilled that Vernon Kay agreed to host. Vernon is a hugely successful primetime star and capturing him was a real coup. He fell in love with 1000 Heartbeats as soon as we pitched it to him.”
