ITV’s best loved and the world’s longest running soap Coronation Street is set, this December, to celebrate an amazing 50 years on our TV screens.
With spectacular storylines planned plus a sensational live episode, an additional three brand new programmes will centre around the show’s birthday week to further celebrate this monumental anniversary. Plus ITV.com will be adding some super special and unmissable content to their site.
Each show has been specially commissioned to give viewers the chance to reminisce with their favourite characters and look back at the storylines that have rocked and shocked those famous cobbles over the past half a century. Plus, for the first time, ITV2 is live behind the scenes.
In Coronation Street – The Big 50, Paul O’Grady will present what promises to be a hilarious evening packed with stars of the soap past and present going head to head in a special quiz, as well as many other Birthday surprises.
Coronation Street: 50 Years, 50 Moments will compile classic scenes and storylines, voted for entirely by viewers, to take fans on a very special trip down memory lane.
And over on ITV2, Coronation Street Uncovered:Live - will be live from Weatherfield on the very night the tram crash changes the Street forever. Stephen Mulhern will be getting viewer's instant reactions to the aftermath, as well as chatting with cast and crew.
