The X Factor hits a new high of 16.6 million on ITV1
Sunday night’s The X Factor results show continued to reach unprecedented viewing levels, with a record peak audience of 16.6 million viewers (54% share) watching on ITV1. The whole one hour programme from 8.00pm attracted an average of 14.4m viewers and a 49% share (a 67% share of 16-34 year olds) – the show’s best ever audience.
This was followed by the last episode of the current series of Doc Martin, which attracted an average audience of 9.5 million, 35% share.
Saturday evening’s The X Factor attracted a peak audience of 13.6 million, 52% share. The whole show from 8.00pm to 9.35pm was watched by an average audience of 11.8 million, 47% share, on ITV1. On BBC ONE, Strictly Come Dancing attracted an average of 8.7 million, 38% share – peaking at 9.8 million, 42% share.
