

ITV Studios’ iconic brands get mobile
ITV STUDIOS Digital Productions has today launched a new retail shop, dedicated to mobile product, at ITV.com/mobile. As part of ITV STUDIOS’ strategy to develop and distribute commercial product and content for different platforms, the mobile shop provides viewers and fans of ITV STUDIOS’ iconic and popular TV shows, including Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Dancing on Ice and This Morning, with a host of fun merchandise to personalise their phones.
Patricia Wagstaff, Director of ITV STUDIOS Digital Productions commented, “We are excited to ramp up ITV Studios’ digital reach with the launch of our direct-to-consumer mobile shop. ITV regularly delivers sizeable audiences on-air and online and this is one of our planned executions where we look to turn viewers into paying customers – fans can now personalise their phone and engage with their favourite programme through a game and application, daily alert or video and ring-tones. Additional mobile offerings such as subscription services for daily alerts on the soaps, sports, news, and daytime programmes, games, applications, and video, plus content from third parties will be added over the coming months.”
The new content, which will be promoted on ITV1 during daytime and primetime broadcast, and it will allow fans to personalise their mobiles with a range of more than FORTY ringtones, SEVENTY wallpapers and THIRTEEN screensavers, all capturing the unique properties of each programme. Ringtones available, which can be previewed and purchased directly online, feature the much-loved original iconic theme tunes as well as fun re-mixes, such as the jaunty Corrie Pub Piano, a quirky Emmerdale Russian Vibe and the stylish Western tone for cult show The Prisoner .
Other ITV STUDIOS’ programme brands featuring on the ITV mobile shop include I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, You’ve Been Framed, Loose Women, Heartbeat, Bullseye and Thunderbirds.
Each download costs £1.50 and can be purchased from the ITV mobile shop’s web-based storefront for direct download to a mobile. Payment methods include PayPal, Google Checkout, Credit Card, and PayForIt, a service from mobile operators that bills customers direct via their mobile bill. The ITV mobile shop supports all leading browsers including Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, Opera and Internet Explorer, with Adobe Flash 9 or 10 required for the best user experience.
The new downloads follow the success of recently launched exclusive digital content based around the UK’s favourite soap Coronation Street via the official website www.itv.com/corrie. With almost 100 minutes of premium new video content every month, commissioned by itv.com from ITV STUDIOS Digital Productions, the site attracts more than one million viewers each month.
