New Dynasty set to reign at Home Farm in Emmerdale.
Emmerdale’s infamous country estate will be given a new lease of life this autumn when the glamorous Macey family sweep into the village ready to make their mark on Home Farm.
Headed up by handsome, self-assured tycoon Declan (Jason Merrells), the Maceys will descend upon the coveted country pile as the Wylde empire crumbles and are set to ring the changes as they make their presence felt in the village.
Somewhat dysfunctional as a family, the Maceys have been estranged for a while, but for all their past differences, there is real warmth between this self-made family, who have worked their way up and remain proud of their roots.
Declan’s eccentric and quick-witted father, Dermot, turns up at Home Farm when his houseboat sinks! It soon becomes clear that Dermot has a mischievous streak and a knack for winding his son up the wrong way. Dermot will be played by celebrated actor Frank Kelly, who is critically acclaimed for his role as Father Jack in the hit comedy series Father Ted, and has a vast and varied career that spans radio, TV, film and theatre, both writing as well as acting.
Frank says: “I’m delighted to be joining Emmerdale, I’m a big fan of the show so I’m looking forward to making myself at home in the Woolpack! Dermot‘s a real character and I can’t wait to get started.”
Declan’s vivacious ex-wife, Ella quickly makes herself at home in his bachelor pad. Sexy and savvy, she flies in from Singapore where she runs a lucrative chain of nail bars, and makes it clear she’s determined to get her man back. Ella will be played by Corrinne Wicks. Twice nominated for Best Actress at the Royal Television Society Awards, Corrinne is best known for playing Doctor Helen Thompson in BBC1 soap, Doctors.
Corrinne says: “I’m so thrilled to be joining the fantastic cast of Emmerdale. Ella is going to be great fun she’s feisty and glamorous with a no- nonsense attitude. I can’t wait to get started as the Maceys make their mark on the dales.”
Hot on her mother’s heels is their fun-loving and carefree daughter, Mia, played by Sapphire Elia (Britannia High, The Bill and Dream Team). Sassy and confident, Mia knows her own mind and is set to turn a few heads upon her arrival in the village.
Sapphire says: “I’m so excited. Emmerdale is such an established and well loved show and it’s a brilliant opportunity for me. Mia is full of fun and I can’t wait to see what she’s going to get up to.”
Series Producer, Gavin Blyth says: “I’m so pleased to be welcoming three superb actors to our cast at this exciting time. The Maceys are glamorous and dynamic, and their move to the big house signals a new era at Home Farm which will see them firmly at the centre of some of our most compelling storylines.”
Ella (Corrinne Wicks) will first appear on screen on Wednesday 17th November. Hot on her heels will be daughter Mia (Sapphire Elia) on Monday 29th November and her adorable grandfather Dermot (Frank Kelly) who will add some festive cheer when he moves into Home Farm on Tuesday 21st December.
