Despite going down 8-7 to New Zealand in the World Cup Final, French captain Thierry Dusautoir said he was proud of his players.
"It's a real pity, I'm disappointed," a downcast Dusautoir said in the wake of the final. "I'm proud of my boys for what they did in the World Cup."
And, alluding to some of the critical headlines surrounding the French during the six weeks of the World Cup, Dusautoir said he hoped the French side had demonstrated their abilities in the final at Eden Park.
"We read a lot of stuff this week, but I hope we showed that we're able to play rugby and able to play in the final of the Rugby World Cup," he said.
