After their hard-fought victory over France in the Rugby World Cup Final at Eden Park, New Zealand's Keven Mealamu and Piri Weepu joined ITV's team of pundits to share their joy.

"I tell you Fitzy I sat there with my heart in my hands," an emotional Mealamu told All Blacks legend Sean Fitzpatrick. "It was probably the toughest 80 minutes of our lives."

Meanwhile Weepu admitted to ITV's Steve Rider that lifting the Webb Ellis Cup would sweep away the hurt of past All Black failures.

"Everybody can sleep easy now," Weepu said. "We've been in a bit of a depression in other years but it won't be the case this year.

"It's just the icing on the cake."
