Otago Stadium is the newest venue at the 2011 Rugby World Cup - it’s scheduled to open in August 2011, just one month before the tournament begins.

If for whatever reason Otago Stadium is not ready for use in time, its allotted pool matches will move to the old Carisbrook Stadium, known locally as the ‘House of Pain’ because it’s been such a fortress for the All Blacks over the years.

Otago Stadium will be New Zealand's first ever fully covered stadium. It's set to host three of England's pool matches, against Argentina, Georgia and Romania, plus the clash between Ireland and Italy.
