NAME: Rudi Lickwood

Rudi has been on the circuit for the best part of two decades after first coming onto the comedy scene as an Eddie Murphy look-a-like in 1989 aged 26.
Amongst Rudi’s recent achievements are earning his status in the ‘Black 100+’ awards for the greatest Black British Achievers, a BECA award for outstanding contribution to comedy and as a headliner at the Brit Awards after-show party. As part of Combined Services Entertainment (CSE), the organisation dedicated to entertaining & boosting the morale of HM Armed Forces around the world, Rudi has toured in Afghanistan, Iraq and Bosnia.
Rudi says: “Not everyone will like everything I do. I know I’m challenging the status quo in comedy. I’m not saying step over the line – I take my responsibilities very seriously, but my comedy is there to make you think.”

Progress in the Contest:
Rudi had a disastrous week in Show 3, when he chose inappropriate material and ended his set early, in front of the schoolchildren, so he had a long way to come to impress the judges and the medics in Show 4. Unfortunately, despite promising to do braver and new material, he was asked to leave the competition.
