Fiz came downstairs and called out to Chesney but was greeted with only silence. She spotted on a note on the table and picked it up, smiling to herself as she saw that it read 'Gone to school. Chez. x'. It looked like things were finally back on track between her and her brother.

As they walked to the bus stop, Kirk asked Chesney: 'Why do people say I slept like a baby when they've had a good night's kip? Liam never sleeps more than three hours and yells his head of in the middle of the night. It's dead quiet just me and Ozzy there but it got me thinking. I miss having you to tell me thoughts to.' Chez agreed that it was weird him not being at the house too. Kirk asked: 'We're still mates though aren't we?' Chesney assured him they were and always would be and Kirk cheerily told him he would see him later.

Ty asked Molly when his deadline was and she mused: 'When I get back from the gym tonight?' He told her he thought she had knocked that on the head: 'You've not been for a fortnight.' She replied: 'Yeah well, I've missed it. Anyway, you will be far too busy to notice if I'm here or not.' She asked casually: 'Are Kevin and Sally back?' and he replied: 'No. It'll be nice to have him back though. It's been dead quiet on me own, know what I mean?'

Fiz walked nervously into the factory but was cheered as Janice greeted her and asked: 'Morning Mrs Stape. How does it feel to be called that?' Fiz told her it felt good and Jan asked: 'And was it all worth it?' Fiz sighed: 'You're talking like all the hassle is over.' Janice frowned: 'You don't think it is?' and Fiz told her: 'No, not by a long shot.' Kelly told her to come and have a coffee but she told them that she's just popped into have a word with Luke.

She popped into the office and asked: 'Before I come back on Monday could you change the name on me clocking in card to Fiona Stape?' Like smiled: 'Sure.' but Rosie screeched: 'I can't believe you actually did it.' Fiz mumbled that it was nothing to do with her but she squawked: 'Of course it is. He locked me up for five weeks. Every time you walk in here it will be a reminder. I should sack you!' Luke snorted: 'On what grounds?' and she whinged: 'Mental torture.' He smirked: 'You haven't looked too traumatised while you've been spending his hundred and fifty grand. See you Monday Fiz.'

Umed was happily installing his latest idea for the shop, a doorbell with multitudinous sounds. Molly asked what was wrong with the old one but but he cried enthusiastically: 'With this you can create a mood the second someone walks in.' Appropriately, the foreboding sound of Bach's Toccata and Fugue rang out as Amber walked in with a face like thunder. Dev told her thought she had gone and asked where she had stayed last night. As Umed's machine played a merry version of Enter The Gladiators she snarled: 'Worried I was with Darryl? I stayed at Minnie's and I've just come for my laptop. It's in the back.'

Dev told her they needed to talk but she replied flatly: 'You might, I don't.' Molly asked if she was okay and she replied: 'I used to call him King Dev. All he had to do was snap his fingers or wave his cheque book and everyone would dance to his tune. I thought I'd made him more human but he's still the same disgusting control freak he ever was. Go on, tell her how you bribed Darryl to dump me! And all it took was five hundred flaming quid!' Dev wailed that he wasn't good enough for her but she yelled: 'You had no right to interfere!' and told them she wanted to check her emails: 'In private!'

Fiz was touched when Anna presented her with a wedding present from her and Eddie. Fiz asked if she'd mind if she didn't open it till she could do so with John. Jan asked what it was and Fiz cried: 'No don't tell me.' Jan pointed out that if it was something she didn't like Anna would have time to change it before John got out. Anna smiled: 'It's a slow cooker.' and when Janice looked less than excited, pointed out that newlyweds would have better things to do than cook meals. At this, Fiz became tearful and sobbed: 'It shouldn't be like this. It should be me and John together. I've got to go to the council now to see about getting rehoused. I've had Rosie on my back already today and I don't want John to have to go through that.'

Kirk walked through the door and threw himself to the floor as the sound of machine gun fire filled the air. Dev cried: 'Umed? What are you trying to do? Scare the customers away?' but Kirk enthused: 'That was brilliant that. I come in for some shopping and it's like I'm in the middle of Grand Theft Auto!'

As Amber emerged from the back, Dev begged her to come back to the flat to sort things out but she ignored him and hugged Molly goodbye and bade farewell to Umed. Umed told her sagely: 'You should make up with your father. His money, if not his love, will get you through University.' but she replied with a curl of her lip: 'He knows what he can do with both!' and walked out of the door to the accompaniment of the theme from The Twilight Zone.

Eileen wasn't amused to come home and find Jesse taking photos of Julie and demanded: 'What's with the David Bailey routine?' He mumbled that he was just taking photos for the General Custard website and asked if she could take one of them together. She looked even less amused at how close the pair stood together as they posed for the photo.

Ty bumped into Kev and Sally as they arrived home and welcomed them back. Spotting them from the shop doorway, Molly hastened over and didn't look too pleased as Sally trilled: 'We didn't want to come home did we Kev?' He blustered: 'That's the vino collapso talking.' but she smiled: 'That's not what you said last night.' Molly looked relieved as Sally added: 'Mind you, he lived up to the collapso bit. Hey, I fancy a drink in The Rovers before we unpack.' Kev quickly blustered that he'd told Ty he'd get straight back to work as they'd got a backlog.

Sal then picked up a suitcase and told him: 'Give me a hand in with these before you go. I want to put a wash on.' As Sally went inside and Ty headed off to the garage, Molly whispered: 'I missed you.' He asked if she could get away later and she smiled: 'I've already told Ty I'm going to the gym.'

Anna asked Fiz how she got on at the council and she sighed: 'They said it could be a year before we get another house and could only offer a two bed flat on the Arkmoor Estate.' Anna told her she wouldn't be happy there and Fiz frowned: 'It can't be that bad.' Overhearing, Teresa told her: 'You're joking. It's that rough the drug dealers go round in pairs, let alone the police. Fire brigade and ambulances don't go after dark and taxis don't go at all.' Fiz gasped that she couldn't be serious but Teresa mused: 'Well, when Harvey Nicks and Harrods take over them burnt out shop units it might cheer the place up a bit. Fiz lay her head on Anna's shoulder and sighed: 'Suddenly being sniped at By Rosie Webster seems almost attractive.'

Teresa joined Darryl who was looking at his cheque and sighed: 'I must have been mad.' She snorted: 'Settling for five hundred? Yes, if you had pushed he'd have made it a grand.' He told her wanted Amber, not the money but she replied: 'Darryl, she's going to University. Whatever promises you make she'll be jumping someone else's bones. It's win win. Break up now rather than later and you're five hundred quid better off.'

Eileen listened as Jesse enthused how good the pictures of them together looked. Julie gushed: 'I know this might sound immodest but I feel I come alive when someone points a camera at me. I feel special.' and he asked if she was sure she'd never done any modelling before. She enthused: 'No. Do you think I could?' only for Eileen to grunt sourly: 'Yeah, you can do that while I dance Swan Lake at Covent Garden.'

On the phone to Molly, Kev told her: 'Call me about half five. I'll tell Sally it's a call out.' then frowned: 'What's that music in the background? Sounds like an ice cream van. Hang on, I can hear it over here!' He looked up to see Umed stood outside testing the speaker he had put outside and, as it played the Theme from Popeye The Sailor Man, Kev laughed: 'What are you trying to do over there. Sell more Spinach?' He quickly told her he missed her and rang off as Ty pulled up.

Spotting Amber at the bus stop, Darryl rushed from the shop. She told him there was nothing more to say but he cried: 'I don't want us to finish!' He was stunned as she snapped: 'Holding out for money?' His mind seemed to go blank at the realisation that she knew about the cheque and it was some moments before he managed to cry: 'No. No! I don't want it. I was going to give it back.'

She cried: 'Five hundred pounds. I thought I'd be worth more than that!' He pleaded: 'You are. I was confused and upset. I saw you kissing somebody else! I thought you didn't care about me?' She asked: 'So you thought you'd cash in?' He told her again that he didn't care about the money and threw the cheque to the floor. As the bus pulled up he cried desperately: 'I just want us to be together!' but she picked up her bag and told him sadly: 'You know what Darryl? So did I.' and climbed onboard just as her father came running round the corner.

Both pleaded with her desperately as the doors swished shut but to no avail as she told the driver: 'Ignore them.' and they could only watch, both heartbroken, as the bus pulled away and took Amber out of their lives.

As Teresa ambled out for her umpteenth fag break of the day, Darryl gasped at Dev: 'She knew about the money. Did you tell her?' Dev told him he thought he had told her her and Darryl's eyes suddenly alighted on his mother: 'You! You're the only one that knew!' She shrugged: 'The lass had a right to know.' and Daryl cried: 'No Mum, no she didn't! You rotten, scheming two faced old bag!' She cried in mock shock: 'Two faced? Scheming? That sounds more like you two to me!' Almost beside himself, Darryl raged that he could kill the pair of them and walked miserably back into the shop.

Dev tore into Teresa, telling her that his daughter had just gone off hating him because of her big mouth. She fired back: 'Well if she does hate you it's because of what you did not what I said! Anyway, you should be thanking me cos those two will never speak to each other again!' but he yelled angrily into her face: 'I am your landlord. I am your boss. And I do hold grudges!' before walking angrily away. She watched him go then casually picked up the cheque Darryl had thrown to the floor and headed back to the shop looking very pleased with herself.

As she headed off to post the day's mail, Luke asked Rosie if he could have a word and told her: 'I've been thinking about the Fiz situation.' Rosie brightened and asked: 'So you'll get rid of her then?' He sighed: 'That's the problem see. As you rightly brought up the other day, you are a partner, a shareholder in the business.'

She looked blank (just for a change) and he explained: 'If we were to just get rid of her she would take us straight to an industrial tribunal just like the one you were threatening to take me to. She could sue us, or you at least, for thousands. Every penny John Stape gave you, you'd have to hand back.' With that he went inside smiling quietly to himself at how adeptly he'd spiked Rosie's guns over Fiz, at least in the factory.

As Sally bored her into a coma with her holiday snaps, Claire commented: 'Ooh, look at you in that bikini. You certainly kept your figure.' Sally beamed proudly: 'Actually I'd just put my top back on for that photo.' Claire gasped: 'You went topless?' and she enthused: 'Yes, everybody else was and Kevin said I had nothing to be embarrassed about. Anyway, surrounded by seventy year old women who looked like they were wearing wrinkly brown leather?'

Chatting to Liz, Lloyd mused how differently things might have turned out. He looked surprised as she replied: 'A lot of things could have turned out differently this year. There are three months left though.' He asked if she would be jetting back to Spain when Steve got back and she asked: 'Why? Would you miss me?' He smiled back: 'Would you miss me?' and she smiled: 'Spain will be dead until the Spring anyway so I'll probably stick around.'

Eileen demanded: 'So, what was all that ooh the camera loves you stuff about with Julie earlier?' Jesse blustered that he was just trying to set a mood she grunted: 'Oh you were doing that alright.' He opined: 'You've got to admit, she does take a good photo does Julie.' but was lost for words as Eileen snapped: 'You fancy her don't you?'

He spluttered that she was her sister but she replied: 'Half sister actually and that wouldn't stop you playing cavalry officer and squaw when the kids had gone off for jelly and ice cream.' He wailed that she didn't trust him and she replied: 'Does it sound like I do?' He mumbled no and she smiled: 'Well then. You know what to do. Her or me Jesse.' He protested that he and Julie made a great act and pleaded: 'I can control myself, honest.' but she replied flatly: 'Your choice, cowboy!'

Kelly arrived and asked Saly if she's had a good holiday and had they raised a glass to John Stape while they were there: 'Seeing as he paid for it with money him and Fiz could have had for the wedding reception when he gets out.' Sally snorted derisively: 'That's never gonna happen. This engagement is just a game so he can get someone to go and see him.'

Kelly took great delight in informing her: 'Hello? Newsflash Sally. They're already married.' Sally gasped: 'What?' and Kelly beamed: 'They got wed yesterday!' Claire frowned and pointed out he was still in prison and Kelly mused sarkily: 'Maybe that's why they're not on honeymoon.' Sally accused her of winding them up but Kelly smirked: 'Why would I do that when the truth is so much better?' then leant down to her and whispered: 'End of an holiday can be a right downer can't it?'

Ty arrived home to find Molly just coming out and she told him she was just off to her exercise class. He grinned: 'Well don't be home too early cos that will be cheating.' This was music to her ears and she assured him she wouldn't as she hurried off down the street.

Chesney answered a knock at the door to find himself pushed aside as Sally barged her way into the house screeching: 'Is she in?' As Fiz came out of the kitchen she raged: 'Did you wait till we were out of the country?' Fiz fired back: 'Don't you barge in here shouting your mouth off.' but Sally squawked: 'What's the matter with you? Are you sick, stupid or just plain bonkers?'

'Marrying that psychopath? You disgust me!' snarled Sally. Fiz told her that it had nothing to do with her but Sally raged: 'It's got everything to do with me and my family. That man, your husband, is evil!' Fiz advanced on her and told her in no uncertain terms: 'You are asking for a lamping lady and I am just in the mood to give you one.'

Sally snarled: 'That make you a perfect pair. A thug and a psycho. Go on, hit me! Let me tell you something for nothing Mrs Stape, that husband of yours doesn't belong near decent people so if you've got any thoughts of living on this street with that pervert you can think again!' Chesney looked stunned as Fiz snapped back: 'Don't worry. We're moving.' to which Sally snorted: 'Good! A bit of sense at last!' and flounced from the house.

As the door slammed behind her, Chesney cried: 'You what? When? Where?' Fiz hastily blustered: 'Chez, we've not properly decided yet, honest.' but it looked like the brief reconcilliation between the pair was shattered again as he yelled: 'You can go. I'm not!' and stormed from the room.
