Sally asked Sophie if she had checked every photo on the site. She replied: 'Yes and I haven't found s single one of dad.' Kev blustered that he didn't remember seeing anyone taking photos then looked hopeful as Sophie cried: 'Hang is. Here's one. Look, behind those two blokes dressed as hairy tomatoes.' Sally squinted and cried: 'Hairy tomatoes? They look more like a big pair of... Oh look! Is that Kevin? They look like his legs.'

Sophie shrugged: 'Well it could be my dad.' and Sally smiled: 'Do you remember running behind a big pair of tomatoes?' Kevin looked greatly relieved and lied: 'Yeh. Yeah I think so.' and Sally breezed: 'There then. Mystery solved. Now let's start enjoying our anniversary. Sophie, be a love and go fetch that bottle of wine from the fridge.'

As they left the workshop, Leanne asked excitedly: 'What happens next?' Peter told her he would need to Negotiate with Turner and she pointed out: 'And we'll need planning permission and the costs of a conversion.' He told her wisely: 'Well I think while we're at the planning stage we should keep it to ourselves. We don't want to alert anyone to the potential of this place or that I might be putting the bookies on the market.' She asked if he really thought they could make a go of it and he smiled: 'I don't know Lee but I think we can give it a damn good try.

With Barry and Helen soon to arrive for Liam's christening, Tony opined that they would prefer a hotel. Maria smiled that she had already told them they could stop there. He asked about food and wondered if they should get a caterer but Maria told him Helen would help with the food. He mused that it was all going to take some organising and smiled: 'Tell you what, why don't you let me book a restaurant for the night before the christening. Just you and me. Something for the grown ups.' Maria looked slightly taken aback for a couple of seconds but then replied: 'Yes, that would be nice.'

As Norris handed Sheila a cuppa, she yabbered: 'Oh how thoughtful. And there was me beginning to think you didn't like me. It's just that I thought I saw you giving me funny looks a couple of times. I'm very sensitive to things like that but I think it's probably just your face. And there was me just thinking I could do with a cup of tea and there you are with one. Hey, do you think we are becoming telepathic?' He replied hesitantly: 'No, I don't think so. Actually I wanted to have a little chat with you.' and she smiled: 'Ah, you'd talk the hind legs of a donkey if I gave you the chance.'

He opened his mouth and she cried: 'There's nothing I'd like more than a chat with you.' He opened it again but she then cried: 'When I've been to the lavvy. When a girl's got to go she's got to go.' and made a hasty exit from the room.

Lloyd didn't look to keen as Teresa approached as he got the party music underway but looked quite impressed as she asked: 'How about The Contours, Danger, Love Ahead. It's been a while since I've heard that sweet soul music.' He replied: 'Wow, you push a button.' She asked if he's got it and he told her: 'Yeah, I'll see what I can do.'

With Maria in the bath, Tony phoned the restaurant and told them: 'I'd like to make a booking for the sixteenth please. Table for two, preferably by the window? Yes, that's right, the sixteenth of Oct...' He suddenly trailed off then told them: 'Actually I'm sorry. Could you cancel that please?' He looked quite pained as he ended the call, having realised what that date was.

Peter and Leanne arrived at the party, and as he went to get their drinks, Deirdre told Leanne she was looking really well and if she'd had her hair done or something. Blanche opined: 'She's young. That's what makes her look different. Sit down love. You're on the coffin dodgers table tonight.' Leanne sat down and asked her how she was. She replied and the entire table laughed as Emily cried: 'My hearing must be getting worse. I thought I just heard Blanche say mustn't grumble!'

Liz thanked Lloyd for helping out tonight and he told her: 'No problem. It's good that we can still be mates, no awkwardness.' He looked into her eyes and there was a definite spark between the pair as she smiled: 'Yes.'

Back in The Kabin, something had clearly happened as Norris rushed from the back with a glass of water and stammered at Sheila, slumped in a chair: 'Here, have a drink of water. And keep breathing!' How do you feel?' For once, Sheila's mouth remained silent as she gaped wordlessly at him.

He cried: 'It's no reflection on you, really! But I would be happier if you would say something!' Finally, Sheila managed to issue sounds from her mouth as she gasped numbly: 'You've sacked me?' Norris blustered: 'I'll pay you till the end of the week.' She pointed out that it was Friday and he cried: 'I'll throw in Saturday... morning.' and she slumped back once more. It looked like, as far as The Kabin was concerned, Sheila's wheels had come to a halt.

It seemed to have just occurred to Leanne that a recovering alcoholic opening a bar might not be such a good idea but Peter told her: 'I can handle it or I wouldn't have suggested it in the first place. Look at us, we're in a pub, surrounded by temptation. Give me some credit. Do you know why I know it's not going to be a problem?' She asked why and he replied: 'Because I've got you back and you give me strength, a future and there's no way I am going to let you down.' She hugged him and told him he was amazing and he smiled: 'Yeah, I think so.'

Lloyd complained that no-one was dancing. Liz told him they would things had warmed up but he smiled: 'Tell you what. I'll dance with you and that will get them up. As he put his arm round her she smiled: 'One dance. One short dance.' Moments later, Leanne pulled Peter away from the bar to dance with her and Ken, Deirdre, Tyrone and a reluctant Molly quickly followed suit.

Lloyd told Liz that he missed her and she confessed that she missed him too. He sighed: 'I don't even know why we broke up. It wasn't my idea.' and she suddenly kissed him but then told him she had to get back to the bar. He sighed bitterly: Oh here we go again. Same old story. You and me get close and you run for the hills.'

She snapped: 'I have to get back to the bar, that's all. 'He sighed that he didn't mean it like that but she snapped: 'You want to know why we split up? Because you are petty and immature. That's why! And I, for one, am very happy about that!'

Kevin was caught off guard as Sally told him: 'Right, now Sophie's in the shower you can tell me the truth.' He gulped: 'Eh?' and she told him: 'Kevin, I have been married to you for over twenty years. Those were not your knees behind those two tomatoes. Come on. The truth! Why is there no picture of you finishing that race?' He took a deep breath and lied: 'I didn't finish the race. I got cramp after two miles and had to stop.'

She asked: 'And Molly?' and he lied again: 'I told her to carry on but she stopped and stayed with me. I thought I might have done something serious. It was my idea not to say anything to anyone. I mean, you and Tyrone had been really good about letting us go and we didn't even finish the race. Then there was that thing with the trains. The whole thing was a total disaster. Don't say anything though, I don't think Molly has told Tyrone we didn't finish either.' Sally smiled: 'You are a bad influence on each other. Well it's the last time I let you go to Glasgow on your own, now go and put a shirt on and you take me for a drink in The Rovers.' and a relieved Kevin scooted off upstairs.

Lloyd sighed that he wished the earth would open and swallow him but Teresa muttered: 'She's got no taste that woman. Look at the way she dresses.' He asked how ridiculous he looked on the dance floor and she assured him he was a nifty little lover. He cried: 'Not me dancing. I meant when I was getting publicly humiliated and dumped.' Teresa frowned: 'Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't she dump you weeks ago?' He cried that he has been so close and looked faintly queasy as she told him with a leering smile: 'Trust me, you could do a lot better.'

Ken asked Peter if everything was okay with he and Leanne: 'I saw you talking earlier. It looked serious.' Peter assured him it was fine and Ken smiled: 'I'm glad. She's good for you.' Peter beamed: 'She is. I had to jump through hoops to get her back.' and Ken told him happily that it was really good to see a bit of stability in his life.'

Liz told Deirdre: 'I am my own worst enemy. I shouldn't have kissed Lloyd. I shouldn't have even danced with him.' Deirdre mused that you couldn't just switch things off like a tap and she sighed: 'That's the problem. I don't know what I want. I don't know what I feel.' but then smiled: 'But I am the landlady of this pub and should not be spoiling birthday parties with my dysfunctional love life!'

Emerging from the loo, Molly answered her phone as it rang. Hearing Kev on the line, she whispered that she couldn't talk not but he quickly told her about Sophie looking on the website and having to tell Sally that he'd got cramp and she stayed to help him. The line went dead as he rang off on hearing Sally coming downstairs. She returned to Ty who asked who it was on the phone and she consummately lied: 'Umed. couldn't find the till roll.'

As the sound of Robert Knight's wonderful Love On A Mountain Top filled the air and bottled lager increasingly filled Lloyd's stomach, Teresa asked why he kept torturing himself. He downed his beer and asked if she wanted another drink. She replied: 'Yes but not here.' He asked where and she smiled: 'Somewhere we can listen to the Contours.' He grinned: 'Do you like tequila? and she enthused: 'My middle name is Tequila. Let's go.' and, unnoticed by Liz, they headed for the door.

Tony told Maria he'd changed their plans: 'Going out the night before the christening. You knew what night it was. Why didn't you remind me?' She sighed: 'I don't know.' and he sighed: 'You think it doesn't affect me? The day Liam died is not the time for a night out. I'm sorry I suggested it.' She put a conciliatory arm round his shoulder and kissed him.

Of course, neither of them had any idea Leanne was back in Weatherfield and were surprised as she cried: 'Hiya.' Maria gave a muted one back and Leanne smirked: 'Well, this is news. Are you two together?'

Emily was surprised as she heard from Norris that he had sacked Sheila and gasped: 'What did she say?' He cried: 'That's the thing. She didn't say anything. I've not been able to get a word in edgeways for days, I tell her she's sacked and she's struck dumb. It was quite an ordeal I can tell you!' though Blanche pointed out sharply: 'I don't suppose it was a picnic for her either!'

As Kevin joined him, Ty asked where Sally was and Kev nodded towards the far side of the pub and replied: 'At the bar.' Tyrone then opined: 'You know, I'd hate to be married to the sort of woman who never goes to the bar. Real women buy drinks!'

At the bar, Sally told Molly: 'I know your little secret. Kevin confessed. I know you didn't finish the race.' Having already been briefed by Kevin, Molly took this in her stride but did look a little perturbed when Sally told her: 'A word of advice. A husband and wife keeping secrets from each other? Not a good idea. It always ends in tears.'

Bill wished Ken a happy birthday and asked him: 'I wonder if I could ask you a favour? I don't suppose you could put in a good word for me with Peter?' Ken asked what kind of word and Bill replied: 'This new development that he's planning, the renovation work. It's a big job but I could handle it. I don't expect any favours mind, just a chance to put my pitch. So, if you could have a word?' Ken, for whom all this was news, told him quietly: 'Yes, I'll certainly have a word.' and walked off looking very thoughtful.

With The Contours on the stereo and the tequila flowing like water, Teresa apologised to a now plastered Lloyd for the scam she tried to pull with Finlay: 'I ripped you off something rotten and now I know what a decent bloke you are I feel bad.' Flopping back on the sofa, eyes closed, he mumbled: 'Don't feel bad, it's not good. I feel bad and I don't like it so now I'm gonna feel good.' Moving closer she told him: 'Mmm, I like the sound of your plan!'

Ken told Peter that Bill had asked him to put in a good word for him and Peter replied: 'What about?' Ken replied: 'You tell me?' and Peter blustered: 'Oh it's nothing really.' Ken frowned: 'A new development? Renovation work?' Peter blustered that Bill was getting a bit ahead of himself but Ken asked: 'What's the secret?' Deirdre's ear pricked up and she asked: 'What secret?' Peter told them there wasn't one but Ken replied: 'So go on.'

Pressured, Peter told them: 'It's very early days at the moment but we, that's me and Leanne obviously, are thinking of opening up a new business. A bar.' Blanche gasped and Leanne hastily interjected: 'Not like a pub or a nightclub or anything. More like a hotel bar.' Ken asked whose idea it was and Peter told him: 'Ours.' only for Blanche to cry: 'And arsonist and an alcoholic open a bar. It sounds like the start of a joke!' and Deirdre join in: 'And not a very funny one!'

A shocked Ken cried: 'I have to agree. What on earth were you thinking?' Peter snapped defensively that he was sitting in a pub right now and was perfectly fine. Deirdre screeched: 'And what about Simon?' and Peter snorted mockingly: 'Well he's a bit young to serve but we'll probably have him mixing cocktails in the back.' Ken rounded on Leanne, telling her this was her influence. Peter cried that he was just saying how good she was for him but Ken cried: 'Can't you see how vulnerable he is? If he falls off the wagon what's it going to do to Simon? Even then how are you going to afford it?'
