Kevin arrived back at the garage and Ty cried cheerfully: 'Oi, you're supposed to avoid traffic jams, not go look for them.' Kev smiled: 'Well I'm back now. Is that Minnie's Mini?' Ty told him it was just a bit of carburettor trouble and Kev replied: 'Yeah, well make sure you charge her full whack.' Ty replied that he was going to and pointed out that it was his business too. Kev told him it was just a gentle reminder and Ty told him: 'Yeah, well I'm not as soft as people think!'

Spotting Molly, Ty asked her how Diggory was and she lied: 'He's got flu. Hot sweaty horrible flu.' Pam listened as he smiled: 'Aw, I'm only asking cos I've got a lot of time for The Diggory. He is my favourite wife's dad after all.' Molly rolled her eyes irritably and he cried: 'What?' She told him she was just worried about him: 'He's never ill so I'm gonna be backwards and forwards all week.' Ty told her he would go with her and she cried hastily: 'And catch it as well so I've got two of you to look after?' He shrugged and grinned: 'Then I will drive you and wait outside milady.' Pam watched with concern as Molly snapped: 'Oh stop being a martyr!' and stomped off to the shop as Tyrone cried: 'Can I not do anything right by you?'

Tony burst into the salon and cried: 'You're here! Your phone was off and I didn't know where you were!' Maria told him she was just doing Audrey a favour: 'Natasha has pulled a sickie and Audrey is short handed.' Audrey opined that she was sure Natasha was holding her nose when she phoned in and a discussion ensued on workers pulling sick days. Emily smiled: 'Tony's the major employer round here. What do you do with shirkers?' Tony replied icily: 'They are hanged., publicly at tea breaks. I need a word with Maria.'

He led her to one side and told her: 'You have got Carla's number.' She asked what of it and he told her: 'We talked about this. She is my wife.' Maria snorted: Well I know she is not mine.' Mindful of listening ears he asked diplomatically: 'Look, can we talk about this later.' She pouted that she was too busy to phone her now anyway and he, apologising for the interruption, told her he would see her later.

Bill told Dev that his quote was a fair price for the job but, tapping at his keyboard, Dev told him that remained to be seen. Bill sighed: 'In the building game, a bad job is never cheap.' but Dev retorted: 'And in the desert, only the sands tells stories.' Bill and Molly looked at him blankly and he smirked: 'Oh I'm sorry. I thought we were swapping gnomic wisdoms.' Bill told him he could see that working with him would be unique and interesting experience. Dev retorted: 'Indeed. A joy and a life tick... if it happens.' As Bill left, Molly chided Dev and told him torture was illegal in Great Britain and he cried: 'Serve him right for this Dick Turpin quote. Hasn't he ever heard of the internet?'

Pam walked in and asked how Diggory was. Molly replied: 'Er, not the model patient but you know how he is.' She asked what was wrong with him and Molly replied: 'Flu.' From the back room, Dev called out that he had checked his dairy and was free until Thursday: 'He'll be better by then won't he?' Molly mumbled that she hoped so and, picking up her basket, Pam gave her a piercing look and muttered: 'I hope so too.'

The silence was becoming suffocating and Norris found himself opening the till just to make some noise. He made a valiant attempt at conversation as he told Joan about Roy and Hayley visiting Transylvania and asked: 'Do you know them?' A barely perceptible shake of the head was the answer. He chuntered: 'They do a very nice bacon barm, if you liked cured meats.' Silence again. 'Do you like cured meats?' he enquired but got the same reaction. He then reeled off: 'Have you tidied the magazine shelves? Restocked the sweetie jars? Queried that invoice? Put on that new mop head? Cleared that dead wasp out of the shop window?' Each of these was answered with the smallest of nods and he sighed in despair: 'I'll go make us a cup of tea.'

Maria was fuming over what Tony had said and Audrey asked what on earth she was going to say to Carla. She replied: 'I don't know, just no hard feelings.' Audrey sighed: 'Oh my darling, I have dealt with many ex wives and believe me, the feelings are always hard. You ring her and you'll be guaranteed to make things nastier than they were in the first place.' Maria looked thoughtful as Audrey told her: 'Look at it from her side. It would look like crowing. I've got your man now so let's all be friends. It's as if she never mattered and was forgotten in an instant.'

As the shop door opened, Norris cried ecstatically: 'Kirk! Thank goodness!' Kirk frowned: 'What's the matter? Are you being held captive by a hidden intruder?' Norris assured him that was not the case and he asked: 'Have you got this month's Extreme Puzzler?' Joan pointed mutely to the shelf and you couldn't help but feel it wouldn't be long before she started communicating only by tapping on the counter just like Marina in Stingray. Norris hurriedly fetched it and mused that it wasn't what he would have expected him to buy. Kirk cried indignantly: 'Just because I am unemployed doesn't mean I haven't got a brain to tease.'

Norris cried: 'No, no I didn't mean it like that. Stay and we can discuss it at greater length.' but Kirk replied: 'Nah, I'm gonna go home and do some Sudoku!' Norris wailed: 'No, Kirk, please!' but Kirk had already handed Joan his money and the door was closing behind him. Norris grimaced miserably as the shop was plunged more into doomy silence.

Ben told Sophie and Ryan that his gran had had a stroke and his parents were staying in Southampton with her till she could look after herself. Ryan asked: 'And you've got to stay with Anthony Armpit till the come back?' Sophie told him not to call him that but, sniffing his own armpit in mock disgust, he cried: 'Oh come on. Don't tell me Christians can't spot a personal hygiene issue.' Ben laughed as Ryan told him: 'It's really gonna test your faith sharing a room with that stinker.' Ben mused that there must be somewhere else he could stay but Sophie told him: 'I'm not even gonna ask. My dad wouldn't allow it.' Ryan asked why he couldn't just go with them and Ben sighed: 'They don't want me to miss any school.'

Ty shushed Minnie as she arrived to check on her car's progress and told her he had invoiced her for just cleaning the carburettor but had actually done a rejet on it. He told her she had better be paying cash and she replied: 'Well I will if you've done a good job.' He laughed and asked how she would know and she grinned: 'When you've taken me for the test drive of course!'

Tony returned to the shop and apologised to Maria. She told him that she was sorry too and wouldn't be ringing Carla. She asked why he wasn't at work and he told her he thought they might go shopping. She frowned and asked what for and was thrilled when his face broke into a smile and he told her: 'A ring.'

As Ty and Minnie pulled back up outside The Kabin, Molly found herself bumping into Pam outside the house. She laughed: 'Are you following me or what?' but Pam told her bluntly: 'I phoned your dad. He's not ill.' Cool as a cucumber, Molly told her: 'I know. I just wanted some time off work.'

Pam asked pointedly: 'Is there something wrong? Something you want to talk about?' Desperate to avoid her questioning, Molly looked round at the sound of Tyrone and Minnie laughing as they got out of the car and cried: 'Yes! Yes there is!' and marched across the street towards them.

She yelled at Tyrone: 'What's going on? Where have you been with her?' Ty replied innocently: 'Testing the car that I've just fixed.' but she yelled: 'You're a liar. You're making a fool of me with this slapper and I'm not having it!' Minnie raged: 'Who are you calling a slapper?' and took a step towards her but Ty imposed himself between them and Molly stomped off back across the road. Kevin told him he'd better go after her but Tyrone snapped at him: 'Not a chance. She's insane, her. Stuff her!'

But if Molly thought her performance was going to throw Pam off the scent she was quickly disappointed as Pam told her: 'Nice try but we need to talk. And we are going to!'

Ryan sought out Michelle and told her about Ben's predicament. She told him that the flat was small enough as it was. Ryan wheedled: 'His exams are coming up and his whole future's at stake. Come on Mum, it won't be for long and we need to show they God Squad that you don't have to Christian to do something selfless.' His moral blackmail proved very effective and she sighed in defeat: 'Alright, but it had better not be for long.'

Tyrone poured his troubles out to Kirk who asked: 'Is she seeing someone else?' Ty sighed: 'I've wondered that but... I don't know. She's just horrible to me.' Kirk asked if he wanted him to spy on her but Ty cried: 'No! I want you to sit here and listen while I moan about her.' Kirk sighed: 'Oh, will you be long?' Ty griped that he was useless as a mate but Kirk told him: 'But you've done nothing wrong. It's her. And don't you go to her, let her come to you. A mate would tell you that!'

Desperate to keep Ben and Sophie in the shop, Norris told them he wanted their views on the magazines he stocked and blustered: 'Are we missing anything that might appeal to your age group? Would you buy this for instance?' He thrust a mag at Sophie who cried: 'No I would not! It presents a totally one dimensional and sexualised view of women! I'm not interested in cellulite!' He asked if that was because she was a Christian but she told him: 'No, it's because it doesn't matter!'

Ben's phone beeped and, after reading the text, he cried happily: 'Ryan said he's asked his mum and I can stop at his!' They hugged and Sophie squealed ecstatically: 'You'll only be down the road.'

Norris sighed in dismay as they left the shop and turned to find Joan looking at her watch. To his astonishment, she spoke with being forced into it and mused: 'Ah, home time.'

Norris couldn't believe his ears as she looked fondly round the little shop and told him: 'I like working here. It makes the day go by in a wink.' As she trotted into the back he watched her go incredulously and, having seen the day drag by, gasped: 'What?'

Back home, Maria asked: 'Can I have a practice?' Tony smiled: 'Go on. Try me.' and she acted out a casual conversation while ostentatiously rubbing her face with her left hand: 'Yeah, I'm fine me. What's this? What's what? Oh this you mean? Oh it's only a massive rock Tony got me for my engagement.' She gazed at it fondly and told him: It's beautiful. Like a fairytale.' He told her they should tell her mum and dad. She nodded and muttered: 'Where's my phone?' but he smiled: 'No. In person.' She gasped that they couldn't just go to Cyprus right now but he smiled back: 'What's to stop us? Give me a couple of minutes and I'll book the flights.'

Quizzed about his new recruit, Norris was keen to sing Joan's praises, telling Audrey and Emily that any modern organisation would be pleased to have her skill set onboard. Audrey snorted: 'If she's that good good what's she doing working for you? Come on, what's wrong with her?' Norris told her that she was an excellent recruit but then conceded: 'If I had to pick fault I would have to say that she doesn't interview well. She comes across as perhaps a bit quiet.' Emily frowned and asked: 'How quiet?' and he replied glumly: 'Silent. Utterly and totally silent. Silent as the tomb.'

Kirk returned from the bar to find Ty texting and cried: 'You've caved in haven't you?' Ty protested that he was texting a mate but Kirk snorted in disbelief and Ty cried: 'There's thing you don't know about. You've never been married.' Kirk retorted: 'I don't want to be married if it means being like you. Look at you. You're totally doggywhipped!' Ty told him: 'It's not doggywhipped. Anyway, it wasn't to Molly. It was to a major player in the automotive industry.' but Kirk merely scoffed: 'Yeah, whatever.'

A few doors away, Molly's phone beeped and she told Pam: 'It's Tyrone apologising.' Pam gave her a look and she cried defensively: 'I know, I don't deserve him.' Pam muttered that no-one did and Molly bristled: 'What's that supposed to mean?' Pam replied sternly: 'Well he's a pushover isn't he? He's no match for you.' Molly spluttered and asked why she was saying that. Pam walked over to her and told her: 'Look, I'm no angel and I've done loads of things I'm not proud of but...'

Pan took a deep breath and continued: 'I saw you. I saw Kevin dropping you off.' Molly was clearly taken by surprise but quickly replied defensively: 'So what?' Pam told her she knew what it looked like and that her dad wasn't ill but Molly replied hastily: 'I skived off work to go into town to buy Ty a pressie.'

Clearly flustered, she insisted: 'Kevin saw me and gave me a lift. Big deal.' and flounced from the room telling her: 'I'm not having this conversation. I'm going to reply to my husband!' and fled upstairs.

As he booked flights, Maria told Tony she wished they were flying out together. He smiled and told her: 'Me too but your parents haven't met Liam yet and will want some time with you on their own, plus I could really do with a couple of days to sort things out at work. We can fly back together.' She thanked him for doing this and for her ring. He told her it was his pleasure and she sighed happily: 'I don't know what I ever did to deserve you.'

Dev walked into the pub and Bill asked him what he was having. Dev replied: 'Maybe you should save it. Someone else is doing the roof job.' Bill asked why and he replied: 'You think I was going to take your word for it? It needs a few slates replacing, not a new roof.' Bill protested that he had been up there and seen the damage. Michelle protested too but Dev told her she should be pleased: 'This way you get it done in a day not the three months he would have taken!' Bill cried angrily: 'You're making it sound like I am crooked. I'm not a cowboy.' but Dev merely smirked in a deep south accent: 'I'll have a glass of bourbon if that offer is still going, Kimosabe!'

Kirk told Ty that he didn't want to interfere: 'I'm no authority but if you let someone walk all over you they usually do.' Ty's phone beeped and, as he read the message, Kirk cried sarkily: 'Three, two, one, it's time for me to go.' Ty beamed: 'Yeah it is actually cos she's just sent me a really nice message.' Kirk told him to at least stay and finish his pint but Ty picked it up and downed it in one, grinned: 'There Happy now?' and headed for the door. If he'd had a tail it would have been wagging.

Molly came back down and was surprised to find Pam stood there. She told her she thought she'd gone and Pam replied: 'I opened and closed the door so you'd think I had.' Molly asked what she wanted and she replied: 'I saw you kissing him. And don't tell me it was just a peck cos it wasn't. I know what I saw.' Molly seemed to turn visibly pale as Pam told her bluntly: 'You're having an affair.'

The front door opened and Ty breezed in. He greeted Pam cheerily and asked what she was doing there. She replied: 'Oh I'm just off, love.' and Molly hastily told him: 'There's spag bol in the kitchen.' He enthused that he was starving and headed inside, Pam closing the door to behind him.

Molly whispered: 'It's not an affair. We're in love.' and Pam hissed: 'Then tell Tyrone. Tell him!' Molly replied defiantly: 'Or what?' and was told unceremoniously: 'Or end it.' Without another word, Pam departed giving her niece a look that told her very clearly she was not going to let this lie till she had done one or the other.
