The Websters were slightly stunned when Rosie made an appearance at the breakfast table, Sophie asking why she was up early and pointing out: "All you do all day is sit filing your nails and flicking through Cosmopolitan." Rosie smirked back smugly: "I just want to enjoy the best part of the day if that's alright with you." The doorbell rang and suddenly Rosie was out of her seat like a greyhound out of the traps as she practically sprinted for the front door. The family jumped up and ran after her as they heard her let out a scream.

The reason for her uncustomary early rise became clear as they emerged en masse to find her taking delivery of a brand new sports car. Sophie cried: "This is ridiculous. You haven't even got your licence!" Rosie retorted: "I've got my provincial!" Sophie snorted: "What? The one that lets you drive locally?"' but the joke was lost on her dim-witted sibling and she was forced to explain: "It's a provisional you dipstick, not a provincial!" Sally, obviously very keen on a brand new car outside the house to accompany the conservatory, asked how much it cost.

Rosie beamed: "Twenty five grand!" and Kevin spluttered: "Are you nuts? Why didn't you ask me to go with you?" Climbing into the driver's seat, she smirked: "Cos I'd have ended up with some manky little roller skate like Mum drives!" Sally slid in beside her and preened,: "Ooh, I feel like Audrey Hepburn!" only to be told by Rosie that she was more like Audrey Roberts.

Molly and Ty walked over and Molly asked: "Insurance will be a fortune won't it?" Kevin agreed and told Rosie it would cost her thousands but the moronic motor owner merely smirked: "Well it's lucky I have got thousands then isn't it?" Sally twittered that she could give Rosie some lessons and Kevin sighed wearily: "I don't believe this. I am going to work!"

Eileen told Sean she had just received a call from her dad's solicitor about his shares. Sean asked what shares and she replied: "I've no idea. I just told him to sell them. Knowing me dad they were in Guinness and William Hill." Jason walked in and the pair launched into a chorus of Happy Birthday and Eileen handed him a card. They both peered past him to the stairs with raised eyebrows as if to enquire if a certain Miss McIntyre might be coming down but Jason told her: "You are joking aren't you? After you and Coco the clown burst in on us?" Eileen sighed and asked if they really wanted to be going to war with the Platts again, but Jason told her: "Tina is not David's property. And anyway, they've been finished months!"

Maria was becoming increasingly frustrated with Baby Connor's reluctance to put in an appearance and sighed miserably: "I knew he'd be late!" Tony looked uncomfortable as she added: "Just like his father!" He told her he needed to pop over to the factory about a couple of things and then they could take Ozzy out for a walk together. She told him that was a good idea and sighed: "I am going stir crazy in here." Tony laughed as she looked at her stomach and bellowed at its tardy inhabitant: "Come on!"

Tina bumped into Sean coming out of The Kabin and he told her he'd forgotten Jason's birthday. She gasped: "Oh, he never mentioned it." and Sean smiled: "He doesn't like to make a fuss. Just one of his many fabulous qualities." Jason walked over and Sean handed him the card, telling him he'd forgotten to give him it earlier. Jason grinned: "You've just bought this. The flap's still wet, genius." Jason told Tina she looked nice and that he was sorry about last night. Sean made no move to leave them alone and finally Jason asked him: "Haven't you got work?"

Sean took the hint and told him he would see them both that evening. As he headed off, Tina asked what was happening this evening and Jason smiled: "Just a couple of drinks in The Rovers. Fancy it?" She smiled back: "Yeah. After a day of Doris I'll be ready for it. I'll see you there then!" He told her that was great and, as he headed off, she called after him: "Oh, Jason? Happy Birthday!"

Luke admired Rosie's car and, mindful that she still hadn't signed on the dotted line yet, told her: "People round here with be green with envy when they see you in that." She lied: "Oh, do you know, I hadn't thought of that.' and spotting Jason, asked how he liked her new car. Jason didn't look overly jealous and replied cheerily: "I didn't know you could drive." She blustered: "Er, well I can't yet but I'll be having lessons." He smiled and headed on his way and Luke whispered sycophantically: "Like I said. Green!"

Tony strolled over and Luke mused sarcastically: "Hmm, I know the face but..." Tony told him that if he couldn't cope he only had to say. Luke assured him he could and Tony asked pointedly: "Sorted the VAT money out?" Luke muttered that it was all in hand and Rosie wittered excitedly: "Aren't you going to say anything about my new car?" Tony looked at her rather like someone would look at an irritating bluebottle buzzing near their ear and replied flatly: "No." before heading back to the house. Luke and Rosie looked at each other and smirked in unison: "Green!"

Ty turned up at the shop and told Molly he'd brought her a bacon barm for her elevenses. Already warming up for her run with Kevin at lunchtime, she wailed: "Ty? You know I'm watching my weight. What's for tea? Kebab and lagers?" Downcast he sighed: "Sorry. You're right, I should have thought. You making all this effort and that."

He asked Umed if he wanted it but then gasped, 'Oh, can you eat bacon?" Umed held his hand out and gratefully took the proffered roll as he declared enthusiastically: "I can eat anything!"

Jesse popped in to see Eileen and she apologised for last night. He replied: "I didn't know where to put myself. Anyway, I just popped in to see if you fancied a drink at lunchtime. The Rovers? I've got a gig at three. Twenty five hyperactive seven year olds!" and she laughed: "Ooh you and your glamorous showbiz world. Yeah, The Rovers would be lovely!"

Ty asked Bill why he and Pam fell out. Bill confessed about the personal ads and huffed: "She made me sound about as interesting as a tall glass of water." Kevin was miles away and Bill, not knowing what was really on his mind, told him it was no good stewing over Rosie and her car and that she was grown up now and he'd have to let her make her own mistakes. Kev muttered: "That's all she ever does!" but Bill reminded him he'd given plenty of cause for concern at that age: "Remember Ed Boyland's stag do?" Kev muttered that was just a bit of fun but Bill snorted: "Not for me it wasn't, hauled out of bed at two in the morning by the police!"

He told Ty: "Him and his mates, nicked for streaking down Deansgate." As Ty chortled:, Kev muttered: "That was a twenty five pound fine, not a twenty five grand car!" Ty told Bill he couldn't see why he and Pam were bothering with ads and that they'd make a great couple. He threw his arm round Kev and grinned: "Hey, if they got married we'd be related. Can you imagine that? The Websters and the Dobbs. One big happy family!"

As they admired Rosie's car, Kirk and Sean told Pam all about her being given a hundred and fifty grand by John Stape after he kidnapped her. Pam asked how long she was kidnapped for and Kirk replied five weeks. Pam gasped: "My goodness, at a weekly rate that's better than some premier league footballers!" Hayley rounded the corner as Kirk asked how much the muffins were. Pam told him they were a pound and he enthused: "I'll have 'em both. I love chocolate muffins, me!"

As he headed off, Hayley confronted Pam and cried: "You're doing cakes now?" Pam replied cheerily: "Aye, and muffins too. Would you like one?" Hayley exploded: "No of course I wouldn't! We run a cafe in case you didn't know! Have you not thought you might be hurting our trade? The factory girls don't come for their sandwiches any more. Nor Tyrone and Kevin!" Pam protested: "Oh come on love, I'm only selling a few bits and bobs. I'm hardly Pret a Manger!" but Hayley raged: "Have you any idea how long it's taken us to build that business up and you come along swinging your basket! I'm not happy!" and stomped off angrily down the street.

In the pub, Rosie grizzled, 'You know, people are like so dead jealous. Why can't they just be pleased for me?" Becky replied: "Because they don't like you." Rosie muttered: "Oh thanks!" but Becky replied: "No, I'm not being nasty. Folk who don't like you are going to be jealous because you've hit the jackpot, right? And them that do will be chuffed for you. When something as massive as this happens you soon find out who your friends are."

As they bought muffins from Pam, Audrey and Natasha listened as Maria moaned on about how long the baby was taking to come. Audrey told her that she would not be saying that when the baby arrived. Maria asked if that was supposed to cheer her up and Audrey laughed: "Oh come on. Think of all the help you'll have." Natasha couldn't resist sniping: "Especially from Tony." Maria told them he'd been great and Natasha muttered: "He's been more than that." Audrey asked Pam how much they owed her and she smiled, 'Ah, I was wondering if we might barter a bit? How about a wash and set in exchange for free sarnies all week?"

Maria laughed: "Blimey, what is this? Morocco?" The laughter was interrupted as Tony walked over and asked a little impatiently: "Er, Maria? How long exactly do you expect me to stand outside with your dog?" She smiled that she was sorry and had just got nattering. He grinned good naturedly: "You forgot about me didn't you?" She assured him she didn't and told the girls she'd see them later.

As the door closed behind them, Natasha opined sourly: "Mr Big Bad Businessman babysits the dog while she chats away in here. Unbelievable!" Pam laughed: "It must be love." Audrey blustered: 'Oh no, it's nothing like that." but Natasha sniped sarcastically: "Isn't it?"

As Kevin warmed up with a few stretching exercises, Molly came out of the house and trotted over to the garage clad in skin tight lycra. Tyrone enthused: "Oh very sexy!" She thanked him and he laughed: "I was talking to Kevin!"

Molly asked: "So, are you ready for this?" and Ty chirruped: "Of course he is. I can hold the fort here." Kev told him he would be about an hour and Ty grinned unwittingly: "No problemo. You two just make sure you work up a good sweat!"

Bill bumped into Pam in the shop and she asked how his personal ad had gone. He told her he had never placed it and she replied: "Oh, well some lonely heart is going to be lonely a while longer then isn't he?" He asked how hers went and she replied evasively: "Oh, you know. Just sifting through at the moment. Selling sandwiches keeps me very busy you know, all that slicing and buttering."

Umed gasped: "You two are placing lonely hearts adverts?" Bill sighed: "Aye. I don't know if it will do any good though. Apparently I'm too reliable and practical." Pam sniped: "And I'm a bargain basement Cherie Blair I think the phrase was."

Umed frowned: "And these are bad things? How?" and Pam conceded that they didn't sound so bad when they were said out loud. Bill looked at her and asked: "Can we start again?" Pam smiled affectionately and replied: "Why not?"

As they stopped for a breather, Molly asked Kev if he was alright. He panted: "I could do with a pint and a lie down but apart from that..." She told him she didn't mean it like that. She began: "Kev?" but he told her: "Let's just finish the run, eh?" She looked a little disappointed but replied: "Fine. I'll race you to the park then Granddad!"

Hayley was still fuming and asked Becky if they'd noticed a drop in food sales. Becky shrugged that she didn't count the Hot Pots sold and she'd have to ask Betty. Hayley seethed: "It's just not right!" Becky sympathised and sighed: "I know but what can you do?" Hayley slammed down her glass and replied forcefully: "Plenty. Just you wait and see!"

Luke continued his charm offensive, laughing appropriately as Sally enthused about Rosie's car. He told them he'd spoken to his solicitor and they could have the contracts drawn up straight away. Rosie told him he was pushy but Sally insisted: "Luke's right. It's an investment for your future and at least it's something you've got experience in." Luke smarmed: "And I know you have design ideas of your own. This could be your big chance." Sally's eyes lit up at this and she told Rosie gushingly, 'You could be the next Stella McCartney!"

As Jesse bemoaned his lack of a sidekick in his act, Kirk suddenly cried, 'I can be Hiya-Lowa! I've seen all the films. High Noon, How The West Was One, Pocahontas!" Jesse told him he didn't think the costume would fit: "She were a big girl were my missus." Jason told him it would be even more comical and, as Kirk enthused: "I'm unemployed, keen, dead funny." Jesse conceded and told him he'd give him a trial at the children's party that afternoon. Kirk punched the air in joy and cried happily: "Yesss! I bet this is how that McManus girl felt when she won Pop Idol!"

Tony walked in and watched as Luke fawned all over Rosie. He coughed and told him: "I've sorted those invoices out, they're on your desk. All I need now is the Lichfield figures." Luke told him he knew where they were and Tony asked: "Well can't you do it?"

As they reached the park, Kevin and Molly collapsed sweating and panting onto a bench as she cried: "You let me win." He told her she was too fast for him and she laughed: "I bet you say that to all the girls!"

He suddenly became more serious and told her breathlessly: "I'm sorry. I can't stop looking at you." Molly looked into his eyes as he slipped his arm round her and she moved her head closer to his.

Unable to resist temptation any longer, their lips met and they kissed deeply and passionately, any thoughts of Sally or Tyrone far from their minds.
