Spotting a green looking Ty ambling slowly to the garage, Darryl cried:' I hope you're only working on cars today mate and not driving 'em. You were steaming when you came in for a kebab last night.' Ty gasped: 'I had a kebab? But I woke up in the middle of the night starving.' and Darryl replied: 'That's probably cos you dropped most of it all over the shop floor, and no, it wasn't anywhere near as funny as you thought it was.'

Ty cringed: 'Sorry. Hey, have you heard owt off Amber.' Darryl sighed: 'You asked that last night and like I said them, since me mam stuck her oar in Amber doesn't want to know. I've left messages and texts but she hasn't been in touch and I don't reckon she will be.'

Meanwhile, Molly and Kevin were just finishing off breakfast in bed. He asked her: 'Do you not want that sausage?' and she laughed: 'No and neither do you. We're supposed to be doing a 10k run today, we can't go back half a stone heavier.' Kevin grinned that they could always work it off but was brought back to reality as Molly's phone beeped. He picked it up, saw who the message was from and handed it to her and she read guiltily: 'Good luck with the run. Love T. xxxx'

Chesney asked Fiz if she was going to visit John and asked her to give him a letter. She cried: 'I can't. It's against the rules.' and asked what it said. He handed it to her and told her she might as well read it herself. She took it but before she could open it they were interrupted as a voice screeched from the other side of the road.

It was Sally who squawked poisonously: 'Oh Fiz, just to let you know, clever speeches in the pub are all well and good but there are enough right minded people round here who would rather see your husband in hell than living round here, okay?' Her face looked like she'd just sucked hard on a lemon as Fiz answered considerably more succinctly: 'Sally, get stuffed, okay?'

Emily mused that it would seem strange not having Rita about for a few months. Norris told her was sure she'd send postcards and Emily smiled: 'I suppose it will help your new assistant settle in, not having Rita's long shadow cast over her.' Norris snorted: 'Oh I don't think that sort of thing bothers Sheila.' and when asked how she was settling in replied enthusiastically: 'Very well indeed!'

Sheila turned up right on cue and Norris introduced the pair to each other. Sheila beamed: 'So nice to meet you. Norris has told me so much about you.' Norris smiled: 'All good of course!' Emily told her: 'Norris has spoken very highly of you. I understand you have a lot of experience.' and Sheila gushed: 'Oh yes. I've tended to avoid supermarkets and department stores, soulless places. I do like to chat. Social intercourse, that's what lacking in the corporate chain in my opinion.'

Leanne told Peter she's take Simon to school the n go straight on to work: 'Assistant moron closed up last night so it's bound to be a mess.' Peter mused that maybe he left it a mess knowing she would clean it up and she replied: 'No, he'll have left it a mess because he's a lazy you know what!' Simon laughed: 'I know what but I'm not allowed to say.' Peter told her not to let him get to her but she sighed: 'It's easy for you to say, you're your own boss.' and he laughed: 'What? Not as long as you two are around I'm not.' and kissed her goodbye.

Fiz tore into John about his letters and told him about the meeting in The Rovers: 'I was half expecting them round with pitchforks and burning torches after. Then there was having to talk Chez round after your letter.' John looked dismayed as he sighed: 'Oh, I've made a right mess of everything haven't I?' Her face softened and she smiled: 'Not entirely. Whatever you said in the letter he took notice. he is prepared to live with us as long as we stay on the street.'

He beamed: 'That's fantastic.' She cried: 'Not of half the neighbours want us out, is it?' but John didn't seem at all concerned.

Kevin and Molly were like a couple of teenagers as the walked by the river and she enthused happily: 'This is just the best day ever.' He smiled and asked: 'Despite the weather?' and she laughed ecstatically: 'What weather?' Weatherfield seemed a very long way away at that precise moment.

John asked who was against them in the pub last night. She told him and he smiled: 'I had a letter from Blanche. I think if she'd been alive in the French Revolution she'd have been one of those women knitting by the guillotine.' Fiz opined that she'd probably prefer to be the one chopping heads off and he smiled: 'But on the positive side I've had supportive replies from Roy and Hayley and Ken and Deirdre Barlow. It'll only be a few months till I'm out and we'll fight them together you and I. It's a battle we have to fight and it's a battle that we'll win.'

As they discussed Ken and Emily's party, Liz asked: 'And what about music? Lloyd does a bit of deejaying.' Peter told her he'd speak to him but Deirdre quickly intervened with a smile at her pal: 'It's alright. I think we'll let Liz speak to him about it.' They were interrupted as Leanne marched in, slammed her bag on the bar and asked Liz for a very large white wine. Peter asked what was up and she sighed: 'I've had enough of that place. I told the area moron what I thought of him.' He gasped: 'You resigned?' and she replied: 'I also left the assistant moron wearing two bowls of guacamole dip and three chilli specials. I don't think they're expecting me back.'

Leanne fumed: 'I'd never met anyone before this place that couldn't run a booze up in a brewery. Peter, that place should be a goldmine!' He asked why that was her problem: 'It's not like you were on a share of the profits. You should have let them get on with it.' She cried: 'You sound just like them. You're just a silly little girl while we're big clever blokes. Just look pretty and do your job. I felt like telling 'em just two weeks ago I was running a better bar with better prospects.' He asked if that was why she tipped the dip over her boss and she snapped: 'No, that was when he said my best chance of getting promoted was on me back!'

Peter gasped: 'He actually said that.' She blustered that he implied it and he replied: 'So he didn't actually say it. What? You read his mind?' She asked if he was saying it was her fault but he cried: 'Are you saying it's mine? Two weeks ago running a great bar with prospects. I persuade you to come back and now you're living with an ex alcoholic and his son in a back street flat above a bookies and working for numpties?' He was stunned when she exploded: 'Oh grow up. This is about me, my career, my ambitions, not poor pathetic Peter who's looking to set off on another guilt trip. Honestly, Simon is more grown up than you at times!' and, picking up her bag, stormed out of the pub.

Molly and Kevin's idyllic walk, talking dreamily of wining the lottery and buying a house by the river, was interrupted as his mobile rang. It was Sally ad Molly listened unhappily as he lied: 'Yeah, we've just finished not long ago. Yeah, pretty good. I'm absolutely shattered though. Yeah, I'll give you a ring when I know what train we're on. Yeah, same to you. Bye.' As he rang off, Molly asked if he was alright and he sighed: 'Yeah.' Brought back to reality, she sighed: 'We should check what the weather was like in Glasgow. I'll buy a paper.' and he replied resignedly: 'I'll check the times of the trains.'

Darryl asked Teresa: 'What are you doing? You're supposed to be at work! I've been waiting.' She asked why she would want to spend any more time than she had to with such a mardy beggar and he yelled: 'And why would I want to spend any time at all with someone who tries to ruin my life?' She told him to stop being such a drama queen just as Deirdre and Liz walked by, Liz giving her a sideways look much as one might at a lump of dog mess on the pavement.

Teresa turned and scowled: 'Er, don't you look at me like that lady.' Liz asked: 'Like what?' and Teresa spat: 'Like something nasty you've got on your shoe. I was having a private conversation with my son.' Liz retorted that it wasn't that private as the entire world could hear the pair of them. Teresa narrowed her eyes and growled: 'I'm just on my way to work but if you want to continue this later just let me know what street corner you'll be standing on.'

As Liz took a step towards her, Deirdre grabbed her and pleaded: 'Liz, don't lower yourself.' Her eyes fixed on Liz's, Teresa smirked menacingly: 'Oh go on Liz, do!' Liz seemed to think better of it and with a dismissive smirk of her own, turned and continued on her way as Teresa's eyes bored into the back of her head.

Peter arrived home and, sensing the awkward atmosphere, Simon cried sagely: 'Uh-oh. You two have had a row.' Peter told him they hadn't then conceded: 'Well, maybe I said some stupid stuff.' Simon looked at Leanne and asked: 'Did he?' She confirmed: 'Some very stupid stuff.' and he asked helpfully, with wisdom beyond his years: 'Shall I got to my room while you two talk?' and told his father: 'What you said must have been really stupid.' Peter sighed: 'Oi, Leanne already thinks you're more grown up than me!' Leanne whispered to him that it might be best of he went to his room for a minute and he trotted off.

They managed to clear the air successfully between them and Leanne sighed: 'You know what really gets me? I could have run that bar so much better than those two clowns. I know what works. I've got good ideas!' Peter smiled at her fondly and, when she asked what he was looking at her like that for, told her: 'Nowt. It's their loss.' She thanked him and looked back at the Connect 4 she was playing with Simon and told him: 'Anyway, I've got a game to win here.' Peter asked if she was yellow and, as she replied yes, he looked at it and smiled sheepishly: 'Sorry love, your day's not about to get any better.'

Darryl listened as Ty spoke to Molly on the phone and told her: 'Nah, I just had a quiet night in. What time does your train get in? Oh, alright. I'll have you some food ready then. Alright, love you. Bye bye.' Darryl applauded him and smiled: 'Great performance Dobbmeister. Quiet night in? Shame she's back tonight. I could have done with somewhere to doss.' Ty asked what was wrong with the flat and he sighed: 'Me mother's in it.' Ty asked if they'd had a row and he replied: 'We do nowt else.'

Ty sympathised: 'Mothers eh? Mine nearly split me and Molly up.' Darryl sighed that at least she didn't manage it and Ty replied: 'Not far off though. If me and Molly hadn't been so solid she'd have done for us. She was a total star.' Darryl grinned: 'I couldn't borrow her could I? To see me mum off?' Ty asked why he didn't just tell her to sling her hook and he sighed resignedly: 'I'm gonna have to aren't I? Cos if the two of us are in the flat much longer only one of us is going to come out alive.'

Sheila was in the middle of telling Norris a long and very detailed story about a family at a safari park, a wound down car window and an elephant when Deirdre came to the counter with a magazine. Sheila cried without pausing: 'I'll be with you in a minute dear.' and continued with her tale. Norris told her it was an urban myth but she cried: 'No, it was the brother of a woman who works with me sister!' As Deirdre rolled her eyes, he cried: 'Sheila? Customer?' and she finally turned to her but only to gabble: 'You believe me don't you love?' Deirdre muttered: 'Well not having heard the entire story...' and Sheila drew in a deep breath and began: 'Right, brand new car...'

Norris interrupted, took Deirdre's payment and introduced her to: 'Sheila, my new assistant.' Sheila told him that her sister wouldn't make a story like that up but he cried: 'It's an urban myth, like the lad who brought a penguin home from his school trip.' Sheila replied insistently: 'But that happened. He was from Weatherfield High!' Norris told her again: 'It's just an urban myth. Sorry Deirdre, was there anything else?' She opened her mouth to speak but Sheila prattled: 'You just wait till I see our Norma. I'm sure she wouldn't make something like that up.' Deirdre finally got to speak and told Norris about the party that evening for Ken and Deirdre. and smiled: 'I assume you will be coming?'

Sheila immediately cried: 'Oh I will look forward to that. I met Emily earlier. Sweet old dear.' then chuntered: 'Did I tell you about when Freddie from Freddie And The Dreamers came to my friend Margaret's birthday? It was a few years after Your Were Made For Me but he was still big in Didsbury. He died a few years back but he's still sadly missed. I'll go make us a cup of tea.' As she went into the back, Deirdre asked Norris: 'Did you get her from your ad in the window or from a Sheila Wheeler Dealer?' He retorted: 'Very droll.' but she replied with a a grin: 'Only I was just thinking, you might be due a refund.'

Both Kevin and Molly were subdued as they prepared to check out of the hotel. As Molly handed over the room key and asked for the bill, Kevin suddenly pulled her to one side and cried: 'Hang on.'

Molly gasped in disbelief as he cried: 'Let's stay. I don't want to go back. Do you?' She asked if he was serious and he told her he had never been more serious in his life. She cried: 'But this is completely mad!' He smiled: 'I know but I don't care. I want another night with you.'

Aware that things were spiraling out of control, she asked: 'Kevin? What are we doing?' but then seemed just as happy as he was to throw caution to the wind and threw her arms round him and kissed him.

Darryl gave Teresa her shifts for the next week and she cried: 'Late every night? Get lost.' but he told her: 'Thanks to you I have a life to rebuild so you can cover while I go out.' She told him he was getting back at her for Amber and he snapped: 'You know, it might not be up there with poisoning me dad but sabotaging me and Amber up was pretty nasty.' She told him that it was he and Dev who did that and all she did was let her know what was going on. He cried: 'When I came here I had Dad, I had Mel, I had everybody! I had a right good setup! Till you came along. You drove them away and you've done exactly the same with Amber!'

She yelled that it was for his own good: 'She's already cheated on you once. She'd be running round with some lad in London and break your heart.' She was left speechless and stunned though as Darryl yelled back at her: 'I don't want you interfering in my life. I'm sick of it. I can't stand the sight of you. I've had enough. You're out of the flat and if I have my way you're out of a job as well. Go ruin some other poor beggar's life cos I've had enough of you in mine!'

Molly told Kevin there was still time to get a train home if he wanted. He asked is that's what she wanted but she smiled: 'No. I can't believe we are doing this.' Kevin exclaimed: 'I can. I have never felt madder or more sane!' He pulled out his phone and told her he had better phone Sally.

Molly listened as he told her how their train had been cancelled and there wouldn't be another one till tomorrow. She clearly wasn't pleased and he sighed: 'It's not my fault. Look I'll call you as soon as I know what time I'll be back tomorrow.' He rang off and smiled: 'Done.' Molly asked if she wasn't happy and he shrugged: 'It's our anniversary tomorrow and I forgot.' She told him they could always go and say they put on another train but he smiled and asked: 'Do you want to ring Tyrone?'

Meanwhile, back in Coronation Street, a smartly dressed Tyrone was finishing preparing dinner for his beloved wife. A bottle of wine and fresh cut flowers on the table, he stood back and admired his handiwork...
