Looking up from listening to his cereal snap, crackle and pop, Kirk told Molly: 'You should eat breakfast you know. It's the most important meal of the day.' She muttered that she wasn't hungry. Ty came into the room, kissed her on the cheek, and asked if she wanted any toast but she quickly replied that she had to get to work and left. As the front door closed behind her, Ty gasped: 'Did you see that? She's off with me again. I thought we'd sorted things out.'

Kirk told him he should put his foot down: 'Show her who's the boss and that you're not going to be pushed around.' but Ty snapped: 'Shut up Kirk. What you know about women could be written on a the back of a stamp!' He then wailed: 'What am I going to do? I've told her there's nothing going on and that I won't even touch another kebab but she doesn't believe me does she?'

Molly found Pam waiting for her outside the shop and she demanded to know what she was going to do. Molly sighed: 'Well I don't have much choice do I, now that you know.' Pam sighed: 'I know being married isn't always easy. It's never quite how you imagine but it's worth working towards though, it really is. Tyrone is a good man.' but Molly replied petulantly: 'So is Kevin!' and hurried into the shop.

Aghast at his mother painting her nails in her scanties in the living room, Ryan wailed: 'You do know that Ben will be arriving any minute?' She retorted: 'Ben who is staying in my flat? Ben who is going to have to get used to me painting me toenails in my living room? Oh and on the subject of Ben, I don't want saving, alright?' Ryan sighed: 'He's not like that. He doesn't talk about his Christianity. He's just normal.' but she replied: 'No, normal is getting sick on lager, racing to lose your virginity. That's normal.' Ryan retorted that he was glad that he had such an excellent role model for a parent and went to answer the door.

It was Ben and he smiled: 'Hello Mrs Connor.' She looked up from her toes and told him to call her Michelle. Ryan told him: 'She's just getting dressed!' and gave her a reproachful look and she sighed: 'Alright. I'll do the other foot in me room! Just make yourself at home Ben.' Ben's eyes were practically out on stalks at the flash of thigh and cleavage as she headed towards her bedroom. Ryan told him he was sorry about that but Ben smiled: 'Don't be. She's well sound is your mum.'

Kevin was forced to listen as Tyrone banged on that Molly should know he would never cheat on her. Kev told him he was sure she knew that and Ty sighed: 'It's times like this I miss Jack and Vera, for advice. They had their ups and down but they made it work. They were married for fifty years!' Kev looked on guiltily as Ty told him: 'And that's what I want. I want to see Molly's face as she unwraps the present I've bought her on our fiftieth. I just want us to be happy ever after.'

Maria cancelled her papers for while she would be away and Norris asked if she wasn't worried about flying with Liam. She asked why she would be and he opined: 'It's just that every time I fly there's a child screaming its head off or if not that they're kicking the back of my seat.' She told him that Liam was too small to be kicking anyone's seat and would only cry if he needed feeding or changing and he cried, wrinkling his nose: 'And that's another thing. You're sat there minding your own business and...' She interrupted: 'Oh I'm glad to see you do minding your own business sometimes then. I'll let you know when I am back.'

He called after her: 'Have a nice holiday.' as she left, then told Joan in a whisper: 'Her husband was killed in a hit and run. She's been through a lot. You see, we're a very close knit community round here. Very friendly' As expected, he got no response from Joan whatsoever.

Ben looked on appreciatively as Michelle looked out of the window and moaned that there was no sign of the builder Dev had arranged. She then told them: 'Right come on your two. Out. I am having a bath with my Fleetwood Mac on and the last thing I want to hear is you two doing your Lewis Hamilton impersonations. Off you go and don't come back for a couple of hours.'

Pam turned up at the garage and Kev asked: 'Not lunch time already is it?' He was taken aback as she snapped: 'Oh, so you do think of your stomach as well as other parts of your anatomy then.' He asked what she was on about and froze as she snarled: 'I'm talking about you carrying on with my niece.' As his jaw dropped she hissed: 'That's right. She's told me everything. Going to deny it are you?'

He opened his mouth to speak but she spat: 'Taking advantage of a girl young enough to be your daughter? Married to your best mate? How low can you get?' He blustered: 'I've not taken advantage of anyone.' but she replied: 'Going to deny it are you? Look me in the eye and tell me you and her are not carrying on behind Sally and Tyrone's back.' He shuffled and look at his feet and she hissed: 'No, you can't can you? Barely out of her wedding dress and you've got your oily hands all over her. What's the matter? Wife not enough for you?'

He blustered that it wasn't like that and that he loved Molly but she replied scornfully: 'Don't. You're not talking to a slip of a girl now. I know fellas like you. I married fellas like you. Wrong side of forty, stuck in a rut, looking for a bit on the side to spice up their life, full of I love yous, taking advantage and ruining people's lives!' He mumbled that it wasn't like that but she warned: 'Stay away! Stay away from my Molly or I shall bring your whole world toppling down on your smug, selfish head!'

It looked like the builder had arrived to sort the roof out as a ladder was propped up outside the kebab shop and someone, whistling cheerily to themselves, started to climb it.

Inside, Michelle was luxuriating in bubbles while warbling away to her Fleetwood Mac when suddenly there was a crash and a voice crying out: 'Help! Somebody, help!' Quickly jumping out and wrapping a towel round her, she went into the living room to see what was going on.

To her astonishment, she was confronted by the sight of a man dangling in front of her living room window. Opening the window, she screeched: 'What are you doing?'

Her unexpected window dressing cried: 'Quick, grab me legs!' She cried: 'Are you alright?' and he replied a little sarkily: 'Er no, I think I am going to fall!' Panicked, she cried: 'Well don't do that. I'll grab your legs!'

She did so and managed to help him through the window and into the flat. Unfortunately, as he dropped onto his feet her towel slipped and fell to hers.

Clearly delighted with his unexpected glimpse, her unexpected guest grinned playfully at her: 'Don't cover up for my sake.' as she blushed with embarrassment.

Kevin steamed into the shop and raged at Molly about telling Pam. She cried: 'I couldn't deny it. She saw us kissing, and anyway, why should I? It was a relief to finally tell someone.' He gasped: A relief? What are you talking about? You've blown everything!' She told him she was sure she wouldn't tell Tyrone but he cried: 'How do you know? She might. She might tell Sally! She's going out with me dad! What if she tells him?'

She cried: 'Will you stop shouting at me? People are going to find out anyway aren't they? If you mean what you say about loving me and wanting us to be together!' He snapped: 'This is what it's really about isn't it? You told her because you want it in the open! I've got to get back to the garage.' and still fuming, he slammed out of the shop.

As Michelle returned more conservatively garbed, her unexpected visitor smiled: 'I'm feeling a bit better now. I could have broken my neck if I'd fallen. My angel in a towel!' She told him he should have been wearing a safety harness or something but he smarmed: 'Nah, don't believe in 'em. If you're gonna fall you're goanna fall. You just have to hope there'll be a gorgeous woman there to catch you! I'm Jake by the way.' He asked if she had any brandy: 'Just for the shock mind.' She told him she only had vodka and he enthused that it would be fine. As he continued to turn on the charm, it was clear he was a bit of Jake The Lad.

Arriving home and finding Kirk there. Tony greeted him amiably and told him he was looking forward to spending some time with his brother in law to be while Maria was away. Kirk asked him what his policy was on employing family members but Tony grimaced: 'Ah, well to be honest, with the recession and everything, I don't have any openings. No luck on the job front then?' Kirk replied: I nearly got one the other day, driving a bus. They got all excited when they saw my spelling on the application. They thought I was Polish but when they realised I wasn't they said I wasn't quite right for the job.' Tony told him he was sure something would turn up soon.

Maria went off to continue her packing. As she went upstairs Kirk asked Tony: 'Do you mid if I say something? It's about Maria. Well I just wanted to say, she's had a really bad time but since Liam's been born she's smiling a lot more and I know that's down to you. So I just wanted to say thanks cos, well, I love her and I want her to be happy.' Tony told him he did too: 'And you know what Kirk? I love Maria more than I've ever loved anybody in my life and from the moment I knew that I've done everything I've needed to to be with her.'

Kirk replied: 'You're one of them people who always get what you want, aren't you?' A slight smile played on Tony's lips as he replied: 'Yeah. I am.' and Kirk looked at him and sighed: 'It must be nice.'

As Ty bought chocolates in the hope of appeasing Molly, Norris asked him if he knew that Roy and Hayley had gone to Romania for Frankie Baldwin's wedding. Ty asked where Romania was and Norris laughed: 'It's one of them Dracula countries. Hey, Hayley better watch out. She's only just got used to being a woman.! As Ty left, Norris tittered to Joan: 'See, you wouldn't have got that but Hayley used to be a man so it was quite an apt joke about her becoming a vampire. See it's banter like that that helps things along.'

Again, he received only silence and an inscrutable look from Joan and, as he grimaced in frustration, one couldn't help wonder if, like Sheila Wheeler before her, if her time at The Kabin might not soon be up.

Jake continued to turn on the charm with Michelle and she asked with a smile: 'Don't you ever stop talking?' He told her it must be nerves: 'On account of you being the most beautiful woman I have ever met.' She replied: 'Yeah right. Well you better get on with my roof, I want to get back in my bath.' He told her didn't want to outstay his welcome: 'But before I go can I ask you one very important question? I noticed you're not wearing a ring but you could have taken it off cos you're having a bath, so, are you single?

She smiled: 'Actually yes I am.' He smiled back: 'Good.' and before she knew what was happening he was kissing her. She pushed him away and squealed: 'Gerroff!' and he headed towards the flat door.

Michelle was outraged as he reached the door, turned and winkled cheekily: 'If you want me, you know where I am.'

Alone in The Kabin, Norris looked at the card he had just written out and it did indeed look as though he was going to be looking for a third replacement for Rita. The phone rang and he picked it up to find Rita herself on the other end of the line. Starved of banter and conversation all week, he was thrilled to hear from her and asked excitedly where she was the cried: 'Oh, I have always wanted to go there. Is it wonderful?' He listened and replied: 'No, nothing much round here. Except Roy and Hayley have gone to Transylvania.'

He listened then roared: 'That's exactly what I said! Roy will be sat up in bed watching for shadows on the wall.' The conversation seemed to flow effortlessly between them and he walked back into the shop and sat down as the continued to chat. He gasped: 'That Captain's table eh? And did he look like David Niven? Ronnie Corbettt? That's a bit disappointing then.' It seemed, until that moment, that Norris hadn't realised just how empty The Kabin would seem with Rita gone.

Maria came down and asked Tony what he was doing sat on the stairs and he smiled: 'Kirk's in the kitchen and I was waiting for you to come down.' She told him she was sorry about Kirk being there but he smiled: 'That's alright, as long as he's not here later. I want you all to myself before you jet off to sunny Cyprus.' She asked if he was going to stamp her passport for her and he laughed: 'On several pages.'

He told her she had made him happier than he had ever been in his life and she replied: 'Well you just hurry up and sort out whatever you need to sort out and get out to Cyprus to join me. You're looking a bit pasty and could do with some sun.' He told her he couldn't wait but suddenly looked pained and put a hand on his chest. She asked what was wrong and he shrugged: 'Indigestion I think.' She told him he hadn't had lunch yet and he told her: 'Must be hunger pains then.' but as she trotted off to the kitchen he looked slightly worried.

Summoned by Kevin, Molly crept into the ginnel and he told her: 'I can't stop. Ty's on a job. He's bought you chocolates cos he thinks you're mad at him over Minnie. He says you've been off with him again today.' She told him it was because she was panicking about Pam and he raged: 'You do right to panic!' She told him again that Pam wouldn't tell anyone but he growled: 'You know, the more I think about it the more sure I am you told her because you want it out in the open!' She cried: 'I don't know what I want but I didn't tell her because I want that! I hate all this, meeting in secret. When we looked round that show home you said you wanted that to be us! So?'

She continued: 'I don't know why you are angry with me for telling Auntie Pam. If you want us to be together we are going to have to tell people.' He snapped back at her: 'Right, go over there and tell Ty. He's got his head stuck in a Volkswagen Polo. Go on. Tell him you're leaving him!' She wailed: 'I hate this. When we're away from here I think it's going to be alright but when we're back I'm stuck on this side of the street with Tyrone and you're over there with Sally and it's like what we have doesn't exist. I want to be with you Kevin, all the time!' but he yelled back: 'It's not a game Molly. It's a mess. A big mess and someone is going to get hurt. So get real!'
