Andrew Sachs has settled into his role as Norris' half-brother Ramsay Clegg. We grabbed a few minutes with him to see how he's getting on. Read on to find out what Ramsay has over Norris which could help if the brothers' feud ever came to fisticuffs!
Is working on Corrie how you imagined? More or less but even more confusing. It's just as well everyone is so helpful to raw newcomers like me.
I believe your wife is a huge Corrie fan. What was her reaction when you told her you were going to be in the show? It would have meant divorce if I had turned it down.
Who’s your favourite character and why? My half-brother Norris of course. I have to say that of course — it's a matter of brand loyalty you understand; quite apart from the fact he's great to work with.
What do you like about working on Coronation Street? The sharing and caring of everyone concerned: cast, crew, production team. Together with our total commitment to the show.
What do you make of all the publicity surrounding your appearance on the cobbles? My vanity helps me enjoy it up to a point. But on the downside Ramsay hasn't got a disguise he can hide behind.
Is Norris ever going to forgive his brother? He values his small-mindedness too much, doesn't he?
Are you glad he doesn’t throw you around in the style of Basil Fawlty? He wouldn't dare! I'm half an inch taller.
