Corrie bosses have been speaking to us about Reece Dinsdale's decision to quit the Street.

Stories about the actor, who plays Joe McIntyre, have appeared in the papers over the weekend.

A show spokesman told us the actor never planned to stick around forever.

She said: “Reece committed to doing 18-months on Corrie when he first joined and he will fulfil this obligation. Reece has thoroughly enjoyed his time on the show but had never planned to stay around long term.”

The spokesman said the final details of his departure storyline were still being ironed out. “It is too early to confirm whether the character of Joe will be killed off,” she said.

Looks like poor Gail is set to be unlucky in love once again!
