Stoke City have issued a statement in response to reports of an incident at their Clayton Wood Training Ground on Friday, in which it is believed a pig's head was left in the locker of striker Kenwyne Jones.

The Club takes seriously reports of an incident at our Training Ground this afternoon.

A full internal investigation will be carried out and those responsible for any unacceptable behaviour will be dealt with in accordance with the Club’s disciplinary procedures.

Nathan Delfouneso has been brought into the England Under-21s for next month's European Championship after Callum McManaman pulled out injured.

22-year-old McManaman damaged ankle ligaments in the 4-1 defeat at Arsenal and, although he will not need an operation, faces three months on the sidelines.

Stuart McCall insists he has no desire to quit Motherwell after being linked with the Sheffield United job.

McCall has been tipped as a potential successor to Danny Wilson at Bramall Lane but says he is unaware of any official approach.

If, for example, Sheffield United wanted to speak to me, the club and the board have always been open with me as I have been with them.

If somebody wants to speak to you, depending on who it is, you would maybe say, 'Okay we will speak'. But it's not definite that I will be speaking to anyone.
