Carragher: Rooney will only improve

ITV pundit Jamie Carragher said that Wayne Rooney will only improve after his first run-out at Euro 2012, and says his selection against Ukraine in Donetsk was fully justified.

"In the first half he looked a bit rusty, which you would expect," Carragher exclusively told ITV.com. "The 90 minutes he got will stand him in good stead."

Meanwhile Carragher also admitted that Sunday's quarter-final clash between England and Italy looks too difficult to call.

"It's a 50/50 game, a difficult one to call, but England have certainly got the players," Carragher said.
