Position last season: 6th

Ground: Cardiff City Stadium

Capacity: 26,828

Key man: An impressive 13 goals from midfield earned Peter Whittingham (pictured) a place in the 2011-12 Championship team of the season, and he is undoubtedly Cardiff's main man. The club have fended off a £2.5million bid from Fulham for Whittingham's services this summer, and need to hold onto him to maintain their promotion push.

Chances: After missing out on promotion to the Barclays Premier League yet again, manager Mackay will be hoping to finally be the man to lead the club back into the top flight. The Bluebirds have ditched their famous blue kit in favour of red - could that be their lucky charm?
