Hodgson: We had to be patient

After fighting back from a goal down at home to Ukraine, England manager Roy Hodgson praised his team for the patient way they played themselves back into the game.

"We went a goal down to a wonder goal but I was really pleased with the way we kept probing, we kept playing, we kept trying, we didn't resort to any hopeful long balls into the penalty area, we kept trying to play our way through," Hodgson told ITV's Gabriel Clarke.

"We kept creating chances actually all throughout the game and luckily we got our reward in the end and maybe, who knows, if Steven had been able to stay on the field for those last ten minutes we might even have got the winner."
