West Brom's sporting and technical director Dan Ashworth has been confirmed by the Football Association as their new director of elite development.

Ashworth will stay with the Barclays Premier League club until next summer when he will take up his post at the FA's new national football centre at St George's Park.

Ashworth has been West Brom's sporting and technical director since July 2008.Gareth Southgate stepped down as the FA's head of elite development in July.
