Trapattoni delays Keane decision

Republic of Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni will make a decision on whether or not skipper Robbie Keane travels to the Faroe Islands tomorrow.

The 32-year-old LA Galaxy striker missed last night's 6-1 World Cup qualifier drubbing by Germany with an Achilles injury, but has not yet been ruled out of Tuesday night's Group C game in Torshavn.

Trapattoni and his players are due to fly out of Dublin after training tomorrow, and the Italian will take advice from his medical staff over Keane in the morning.

There are no other fresh fitness issues ahead of a fixture the Republic surely need to win if they are to keep alive their qualification hopes even at this early stage.
