FA Cup archive: Wimbledon in sunny Spain

In 1987, Wimbledon manager Dave Bassett took his infamous Crazy Gang – led by John Fashanu – to sunny Torremolinos for a spot of R&R, a reward for beating Everton 3-1 in the FA Cup Fifth Round (the club had never made the last eight before).

Wimbledon lost 2-0 to Spurs in the next round, but one year later they went all the way (with Bassett replaced by new gaffer Bobby Gould), beating mighty Liverpool 1-0 in one of the most memorable Cup Finals in history.
