Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert will serve a touchline ban this weekend after admitting a Football Association charge.

Lambert was handed the one-match ban, and given a £8,000 fine, after he was served with a charge relating to "language and/or behaviour amounting to improper conduct" during his side's 5-0 defeat at Manchester City on Saturday.

The Villa boss will therefore have to watch on from the stands when his side host Arsenal on Saturday.

"Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has admitted a breach of FA Rule E3," a statement on the FA's website read.

"It relates to language and/or behaviour amounting to improper conduct following his side's game at Manchester City on November 17, 2012.

"Lambert accepted the standard penalty for the charge and will now serve a one-match touchline ban to commence with immediate effect.

"He has also been fined £8,000."
