England skipper Steven Gerrard hailed the individual performance of midfielder Jack Wilshere in the Three Lions' victory over Brazil at Wembley.
"He drives at the opposition, he's very comfortable in possession," Gerrard told ITV's Gabriel Clarke. "We need players to be comfortable in possession and Jack ticks that box."
Meanwhile Gerrard suggested England were moving in the right direction under Roy Hodgson after a very promising display against the five-time World champions.
"If you beat Brazil that means there's signs of progress," he said. "If we can keep the competition for places healthy, we'll keep moving in the right direction."
