New signing Brek Shea could be in line to make his Stoke debut in this weekend's Premier League clash with Reading at the Britannia Stadium.

Shea is eligible to play in the game after the formalities of his move from FC Dallas were completed this week and Potters boss Tony Pulis will now assess the fitness of the 22-year-old United States winger, who has been recovering from a foot operation.

It remains to be seen whether or not full-back Marc Wilson will be involved after he made his playing comeback from a broken leg in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Tuesday.

Provisional squad: Begovic, Sorensen, Cameron, Wilkinson, Shawcross, Huth, Whelan, Nzonzi, Walters, Kightly, Etherington, Jones, Whitehead, Crouch, Jerome, Adam, Palacios, Owen, Shotton, Shea.

Reading forward Noel Hunt is back in contention for the Royals.

Hunt has missed the last two Premier League games with an unspecified injury but is in the squad that will travel to the Britannia Stadium.

Manager Brian McDermott will be hoping Jamaica international trio Adrian Mariappa, Jobi McAnuff and Garath McCleary will have returned unscathed following a midweek draw in Mexico.

Experienced striker Jason Roberts (hip) and goalkeeper Alex McCarthy (shoulder) remain sidelined.

Provisional squad: Federici, Taylor, Gunter, Kelly, Cummings, Pearce, Morrison, Mariappa, Carrico, Shorey, Harte, McAnuff, Tabb, Karacan, Akpan, Kebe, McCleary, Robson-Kanu, Leigertwood, Le Fondre, Hunt, Pogrebnyak, Blackman.
