Tottenham welcome Arsenal to White Hart Lane for the north London derby on Sunday looking to cement third position in the Barclays Premier League and go seven points clear of their most fierce rivals. Here, Press Association Sport takes a look at some of the key clashes which could decide the outcome of an intriguing encounter.

GARETH BALE v CARL JENKINSON

How do you stop Bale, Tottenham's flying Welshman? Full-back Jenkinson looks likely to be the man tasked with coming up with the answer down the Arsenal right but he must not be left isolated. He will need help from Arsenal's defensive midfielders against the Premier League's in-form striker.

MOUSA DEMBELE v JACK WILSHERE

Dembele scored a last-gasp cracker against Lyon in the Europa League to underline his dynamic flair, and the outcome of the derby could depend on whether he or Wilshere wrests control in midfield. Dembele has the power, Wilshere has more finesse and the greater passing range.

STEVEN CAULKER v THEO WALCOTT

Walcott is Arsenal's joint-top scorer this season, alongside Santi Cazorla, with 11 goals and his pace remains one of the Gunners greatest threats. He will be a handful for Caulker, who is expected to start in central defence. However, the 21-year-old Tottenham defender, who scored on his England debut against Sweden in November, is in impressive form.
