Big, imposing midfielders are still all the rage in the Premier League, and another being linked to some of the country's big teams is Sevilla's Geoffrey Kondogbia.

The Frenchman started out with Lens, and was given a run in the side following their relegation to Ligue 2, where he impressed all those around them. Scouts were despatched to the Stade Bollaert-Delelis to keep tabs on the teenager.

Juventus and Sevilla both watched his progress, with the Andalucians eventually acquiring his services in 2012.

His power and presence make him a force to be reckoned with in the middle of the park, with his ability to take the ball forward earning him comparisons to Manchester City's Yaya Toure, and also rumours of him joining the Ivorian at Eastlands to play his understudy.

Kondogbia is by no means the finished article, with his fitness levels not meeting those demanded for the rigours of top-flight football, as the midfielder continuously struggles to finish games. One reason for this is the fact his positional awareness can be very poor, forcing him to do a lot of chasing back when he is found wanting, rather than conserving energy.

Additionally, despite his threatening runs - aided by some great balance and composure - the France Under-20 international's goalscoring record is incredibly poor, with only one career strike to his name. Kondogbia possesses great skill when required and can beat a man with ease through a mix of trickier and speed.

The 20-year-old can provide balance to a midfield thanks to him being predominantly left-footed, but Kondogbia is yet to find his passing range, with many overly-optimistic raking long balls going astray, but his movement of the ball in confined places is of the highest quality.

Despite his flaws, his potential is there for all to see, and his performances thus far has seen the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal considering making summer bids for the tall Frenchman, which could be successful thanks to the sad state of the Spanish economy.

France have Kondogbia and Pogba, both 1993, for their central midfield. Quite the impressive pairing.

#Kondogbia clearly high on #Arsenal shortlist this summer. Would no doubt end Diaby's time at the club. Sevilla man has £17m buy-out clause.
