Name: Clement Grenier
Clement Grenier is a local boy done good, having been born just outside the city of Lyon, where he has made his name as a cultured, attacking midfielder.
In his early years in the Lyon academy, Grenier was linked with many of Europe's major forces, as Real Madrid, Chelsea and Inter all scouted him, but he stuck with his boyhood side.
Still only 22, the flair player has continued to attract a lot of interest from around the continent, including being one of Arsene Wenger's main target for summer 2013.
Since making his debut in 2009, his progression has been repeatedly halted, starting with a seven month gap between his first and second appearance for the club.
Once he became a first-team regular in 2011, he has gone from strength to strength in the centre of the park for OL.
Originally, he struggled for goals in Ligue 1, not scoring at all in his first full season in the French top-flight, but he became a more potent threat this campaign, netting seven times.
His key quality is his ability on the ball - comfortable using either foot, his passing range allows him to spread the play and open up defences when the opportunity arises.
Grenier is also adept when it comes to set-pieces, and is the specified deal ball specialist at the Stade Gerland, as shown in the video below.
He is likely to be available at the right price as Lyon struggle to balance their books, which forced the club to sell the likes of Hugo Lloris and Aly Cissokho last season.
If the France Under-21 international were to join Arsenal. he would be seen as the perfect foil for Santi Cazorla in the final third for the Gunners, as Wenger hopes to inject to some added creativity into an occasionally muted midfield.
– Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier
I have more or less made a decision about which club I want to join.
I have made the choice for sporting reasons above all. Arsenal It could well be them.
There would be competition for places, but you get that at all big clubs and it does not stop me making my decision.
I am still young, but I have always set myself targets and I do everything possible to exceed them.
Grenier was invited to Arsenal-Newcastle (7-3) this season at the Emirates. Pretty good game to watch for someone you want to sign... #afc
