Celtic are moving closer to agreeing a deal to sign Holland Under-21 defender Virgil van Dijk.
The 21-year-old central defender has confirmed his interest in moving to Glasgow after Groningen revealed they would sell the player this summer.
Van Dijk, who has two years left on his contract, told De Telegraaf: "Celtic is a fantastic club and a step up for me. I have to wait now until the clubs agree."
Reports in Holland claim the clubs are close to agreeing a fee after Celtic had two bids rejected and that the Scottish champions have scheduled a medical for Van Dijk later this week.
Celtic are also reported to be interested in centre-back Cedric Mongongu, who plays for French Ligue 1 club Evian.
The 23-year-old former Monaco defender has 20 caps for the Democratic Republic of Congo.
