West Brom have broken their transfer record with the signing of forward Stephane Sessegnon from Sunderland.

Announcing the news late on transfer deadline day - in the final hour before the summer window closed at 11pm - Albion confirmed that 29-year-old Benin international Sessegnon had joined them on a three-year-contract.

The club said the fee was a record one which surpassed what they agreed with Reading for Shane Long in August 2011, but that it was undisclosed.
