England captain Steven Gerrard told ITV's Gabriel Clarke he was happy to have the nation's World Cup qualifying aspirations within reach.
"The challenge from the manager was to keep it in our hands, and now we've got to win our final two games at Wembley," Gerrard said.
"Before the start of the group we knew Ukraine would push us all the way, and that seems to be the case, and we'll have to do it the hard way."
It was a disappointing game in Kiev, but England crucially came out with a point, to put them top of the group.
"I don't think it was a top class performance by ourselves, but we were defensively solid," Gerrard explained.
