Argentina internationals Fabricio Coloccini and Jonas Gutierrez will miss Saturday's Premier League clash with Liverpool.

Central defender Coloccini has been ruled out with a groin injury, while midfielder Gutierrez has been allowed to return to his native country for personal reasons.

Steven Taylor, a potential replacement for Coloccini, is unlikely to have recovered in time from a hamstring problem, so Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa is in line to start alongside Mike Williamson.

Defenders Glen Johnson and Aly Cissokho return to Liverpool's squad after lengthy injury lay-offs to face Newcastle.

Wales international Joe Allen is also back after a hamstring problem while fellow midfielder Lucas Leiva is included after serving a one-match suspension last time out.

Only Philippe Coutinho (shoulder) prevents manager Brendan Rodgers selecting from a fully-fit squad.
