Jose Mourinho's Chelsea take on Schalke in Champions League Group E in Gelsenkirchen, Germany on Tuesday night.

Here, we take a look at the key battles of the contest.

JULIAN DRAXLER v BRANISLAV IVANOVIC

A member of a German generation of which much is expected, the 20-year-old Draxler is Schalke's main attacking threat down the left flank, where Ivanovic will be tasked with keeping the winger quiet.

KEVIN-PRINCE BOATENG v RAMIRES

All action midfielder Boateng, once of Tottenham and Portsmouth, has impressed since his summer arrival from AC Milan. Brazil's Ramires has boundless energy and his counter-attacking ability is crucial in tight away games.

ROMAN NEUSTADTER v OSCAR

Oscar is Chelsea's top-scorer this term and such a key creative influence that manager Jose Mourinho has opted for the Brazilian in the number 10 role ahead of Juan Mata. Neustadter will be tasked with halting Oscar.
