Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is expected to make changes for his side's Capital One Cup fourth-round trip to Newcastle on Wednesday.
Number two goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon, as in the previous round, is expected to replace Joe Hart and there has been speculation the game could be the start of an extended run for the Romanian.
Captain Vincent Kompany (groin) remains a fitness concern after three games out, but midfielder Jack Rodwell is likely to be in contention after hamstring problems. Youngster Marcos Lopes, who starred against Wigan in round three, is out injured.
Newcastle defenders Fabricio Coloccini and Steven Taylor will miss Wednesday's match.
Coloccini is close to fitness after a groin problem, while Taylor is still recovering from a hamstring complaint, but Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa is available again following his one-match suspension.
Manager Alan Pardew has promised to make minor alterations in midfield and attack as he assesses the claims of those who have struggled for game time in recent weeks.
