Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri: I'm feeling loved

Samir Nasri says he is loving life at Manchester City after his side qualified for the Champions League knockout stages.

A 5-2 victory over CSKA Moscow sealed City's progression for the first time in three attempts to get out of the group stage.

"That is something we've wanted for three years now, and we did it today - it's a big achievement. A club like Manchester City should be there every year," Nasri said after the match.

The French is hoping the Blues can take the continent by storm in the latter part of the competition, saying: "Of course, on paper, if you take every player, we have the quality like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man United and Arsenal."

Asked whether he thought Manuel Pellegrini was having a positive effect at the Etihad, Nasri responded with warmth, he said: "Yeah, it's a factor; you have players who like to be criticised in the press - make them react, and some who like to talk to the manager, and feel the affection of the manager. It's the job of the manager to be a psychologist. You can put any player on the pitch, and if they don't feel loved they won't perform on the pitch."
