West Brom caretaker boss Keith Downing must decide whether to stick with striker Nicolas Anelka for Wednesday's Barclays Premier League match against Newcastle.
Anelka is being investigated by the Football Association following his controversial 'quenelle' goal celebration in the 3-3 draw against West Ham, but remains free to play for now.
Striker Shane Long is expected to be fit after missing the last two games with a calf strain, while Downing is also confident over winger Chris Brunt (back), but striker Victor Anichebe (groin) remains a big doubt.
Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has no injury problems ahead of the New Year's Day trip to West Brom.
The Magpies emerged unscathed from Sunday's 1-0 defeat by leaders Arsenal, for which midfield enforcer Cheick Tiote returned from suspension in place of Hatem Ben Arfa.
Pardew was happy with the way his side played against the Gunners and is unlikely to make changes as he attempts to bounce back from just a second defeat in 10 league games.
