Newcastle striker Loic Remy will complete his three-match ban as Tottenham visit St James' Park on Wednesday night.
Alan Pardew's leading scorer has already missed the defeats by Sunderland and Chelsea and will be available once again for the home clash with Aston Villa on February 23.
Pardew also has injury problems, with central defender Fabricio Coloccini (knee), full-back Mathieu Debuchy (calf), midfielders Cheick Tiote (hamstring), Gabriel Obertan (knee) and Gael Bigirimana (ankle) and strikers Yoan Gouffran (muscle strain) and Papiss Cisse (back) all doubts, although Gouffran and Cisse are close to returns.
Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood has no fresh injury concerns the trip.
Sandro (calf) and Vlad Chriches (back) remain sidelined and Sherwood also confirmed Erik Lamela has suffered a set-back in his recovery from a thigh strain and will also be missing.
Andros Townsend will be pushing for a start after returning from the bench in the win against Everton following a lay-off with a hamstring injury.
