Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has slammed the current Barcelona side, telling ITV's Gabriel Clarke they are below the standard set by the Catalan club.
The former Real Madrid boss is no stranger to criticising his old adversaries, enjoying a fractious relationship with the club during his time in the Spanish capital.
Mourinho believes Manchester City have the quality to beat the La Liga outfit over two legs, starting at the Etihad on Tuesday night.
"Of course by history Barcelona is the favourite, but this Barcelona, this season, is showing that it is not the same in previous years," Mourinho told ITV.
The Portuguese manager, who worked at the Nou Camp under Englishman Bobby Robson, feels Barcelona's main hope is Argetinian star Leo Messi, as they team is way below par.
"Of course they have Messi, he is special, and they have more than him. But I think this is the worst Barcelona of many many years, so City have a chance."
