Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany said his team were unfortunate not to have won the game against Barcelona, despite suffering a 0-2 loss at the Etihad.
Speaking to ITV post-game. the Belgian played down Barcelona's level of play on the night, "By no means we felt, they weren't superior to us and when it was 11 against 11 we had too much respect in the beginning. They were there for the taking"
When asked whether the Spanish side were the best he and City had faced this season, Kompany did not concur, "No, not at all"
However, he did give praise to the performance of the opponents, "When you do play against them, you do realise the individual quality of this team is phenomenal and it makes them so difficult to close them down"
