Speaking to ITV reporter Gabriel Clarke after his Chelsea side battled to earn a 0-0 draw against Atletico in Madrid, Jose Mourinho hinted that he may play a weakened team against Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.
Chelsea wanted the match played on Saturday but their request was turned down (by Liverpool, according to Mourinho), and so Mourinho may choose to save his best players for the second leg of their Champions League semi-final on Wednesday night at Stamford Bridge, rather than the Anfield crunch tie.
Mourinho says he will first speak with "the club" internally to find out what Chelsea's priorities are. "It's not a decision a manager can take on his own," he said.
