Suspended Real Madrid midfielder Alonso says rule is unfair

Former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso has questioned the ruling that means he will be suspended for the Champions League final.

Speaking to ITV's Ned Boulting after being booked in Real Madrid's 4-0 semi-final second leg win over Bayern Munich, the Basque midfielder said: "The rule is not fair at all - because you are playing for 13 games, 3 yellows cards is more than easy to be shown, it needs to be changed."

The Spaniards will miss their central midfielder, who won the competition in 2005 when part of Rafa Benitez's squad.
