Ever since Roy Keane decided to leave his post as Sunderland manager last Thursday there's been a lot of speculation linking Hull City boss Phil Brown with the role at the Stadium of Light.
I wish I could give you the inside track on Phil's thoughts on this one but to be honest I haven't spoken to him about it - it's not really any of our business as players!
Of course, it's no surprise that Phil is going to be linked with more and more jobs when they become available - that's a testament to the job he's done at Hull so far.
He's one of the most talented managers in the game at the moment and that's borne out by the way things have gone for us so far this season.
Phil is on record as saying he sees the Tigers as a 'work in progress' and that's heartening for all of us players to hear. We all hope he'll stay.
We've got a fantastic manager, and a fantastic chairman in the shape of Paul Duffen. They've got what they call a three-year plan and everything at the club is on the up - so it would be a strange time for Phil to leave.
On which note, he celebrated two years at the helm with another great win last weekend, this time against Middlesbrough.
The lads did brilliantly to fight back and showed a lot of character to win it having gone one goal down.
Maybe we were a little bit lucky with Geovanni being offside for the first goal but we'll take that little bit of luck.
You could argue we were unfortunate against Portsmouth a couple of weeks before, when Glen Johnson hit that absolutely unbelievable goal.
We might need a bit of luck on Saturday too. December is going to be a massive month all round and it doesn't get much bigger than the trip to Anfield to face Liverpool.
The bonus is that we have no pressure on us going there, especially after that win last weekend.
Nobody expected us to go to The Emirates and win a couple of months back, but we did, and we played some good football too. So why shouldn't we do the same on Saturday?
Hopefully Liverpool will be knackered after their Champions League trip to Holland! Make sure you read my blog next week – will we have another “Big Four” scalp under our belts by then?
